currypowder Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 1979 Hamer Sunburst - Brand new jumbo frets and bone nut by a local luthier. Make no mistake, this guitar has been played. It has had a small neck repair sometime during it's life. The break was not all the way through. The repair is very solid and doesn't affect the playability of the guitar. The finish has some minor checking. The binding on the bottom of the guitar has been cracked. The strap holder on the upper horn has been stripped out and moved about a 1/4 inch towards the rear. There is a lot of wear on the back, some through the finish to the wood. All of the electonics work. The neck picup is, I believe, the original Dimarzio and the bridge pickup is a Duncan Pearly Gates. The original tuners have been replaced with Grovers. Padded Gibson gigbag is included. A cool guitar that has seen a lot of action. - $800 Shipped. SOLD

Gabe Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 1979 USA Hamer Sunbursts are great guitars. The price of this one seems right. I recently paid more than $900 for a 1979 USA Hamer Sunburst (and mine doesn't even have a sunburst colour). Gabe

currypowder Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Brian,As much as I like that standard, I really need to decrease the number of guitars I own. I will try to get a good picture of the neck repair up soon.Greg
currypowder Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 I noticed that I didn't mention that a padded Gibson gigbag is included. I've corrected the original posting. Here are some additional pictures of the neck repair, the wearing on the back and the cracked binding:
