  1. Kev, I will abuse now of our common HFC'er condition: Would you please sell me the limited 2 CD edition, signed by you and shipped to Canada? Of course, I will pay for all the extra hassle.
  2. Very entertaining indeed! My congrats to Mike. I hope his flamboyant personality and his awesome musical skills will fuel some new energy to Dream Theater. Looking forward now to the new album with him!
  3. Wow man! Seeing those monster players auditioning for DT was absolutely awesome. Thanks for sharing!
  4. How thick is the neck? Please, tell me it's film-thin, so I can stop thinking about buying it -Oh fuch! I need to get rid of this extra money ASAP, or else I'm heading straight to divorce!
  5. I hear a lot of rock elements in Gaga songs. And she likes Queen, Led Zeppelin, and even was "caught" buying a Saxon album not so long ago. And she's still a pop star, but a really good one -and a good businesswoman too, no doubt! And yes, she can sing and write good songs -at least, this is singing and good songwriting to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYPZv-1bW_E PS: I also found this, still related to Saxon: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...wsitemID=151169
  6. You're certainly in good hands! Have fun!
  7. I think Gaga is great -and I am serious! REALLY!
  8. Well, I might have to give some more spinning time to it. My first impression was the solos were great, but the songs... just ok. Will give it another try at the office today.
  9. Was listening to it this morning while driving to the office. It does work as casual listening and the solos are great, but IMHO Whitesnake's best times are long gone. In short, get this album only if you are a Whitesnake completist and/or have 15 bucks to throw away -it still is a pretty decent release with excellent production anyway.
  10. Thanks for thinking of me, guys! Well, Ran are fantastic guitars, Jeff Waters is one of my biggest inspirations and influences ever, that very guitar he's selling is a killer axe and I actually have his email and can drive two hours to Ottawa anytime, BUT... I wouldn't pay for such a guitar more than 1K... and I even think I would buy a Hamer Korina Vector or a Dean V to my specs before buying that Ran. Wish him luck with the sale then!
  11. Oh! I thought you just were a fan of George Lynch, but I see there's more to it. Cool!
  12. And now I hear Amon Amarth playing in the background...
  13. Cool! BTW, I like your nickname a lot!
  14. Kind of "The Doft One"? ? El SDuave = The SDoft One
  15. Kind of "The Doft One"?
  16. Zorro (my preferred fiction hero) + sorrow
  17. Z, Can you get Grovers which are staggered for 6 in Line Guits like Sperzel offers? Ah! No, I don't think so. All my guitars are 3x3.
  18. Grover. Cheaper than Sperzels and WAY more precise. The 18:1 ratio makes a huge difference with lower pitches. Of course, this is even more noticeable when you downtune.
  19. Well, in my own case I also love the lyrics. It's the kind of shocking stuff I really dig, and they are in addition quite thought-provoking --not grindcore or that kind of stupidity. As of King Diamond influences go, it probably is the other way around... or maybe they just influenced each other, as HELL was contemporary with Mercyful Fate.
  20. The new version of "Save us from those who would save us" is in YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJqCnk3YUC4 --it should be legal, as the track is free for download, right Kev? --BTW, I love your gay singer's voice.
  21. Thanks! I'm purchasing the digipak version then. Can't wait now!
  22. I f%@# LOVE it, man! I'm getting your new album for sure. I'm a big fan of Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, and this stuff certainly has something to do with what I like. Sadly, never knew about your band HELL until very recently, but it's never too late... BTW Kev, now you're here... Do you plan to release Japan bonus tracks for the new album, or a limited edition, or something like that? Rock on and thanks a lot for the coming back --or else I've had never been aware of the existence of your band. Cheers!
  23. Doug Aldrich is absolutely phenomenal! Probably the best replacement Coverdale could have for both Sykes and Vanderberg. I'll have a listen to the new album. Very probably will purchase it too. I'm more into their hair-rock era, so if this new album is in that vein, I'll dig it for sore. BTW, Reb Beach is mostly playing rhythm with Whitesnake, but that's fine. His lead style is too wild for that band, and his tone too thin, IMHO.
  24. Wow! This thread is back from the dead, five years later!
