  1. The ball does produce a lot of resistance and provides a hell of a workout for your wrists, forearms and shoulders, but I have no idea if it works as a therapeutic device. All I know is that I enjoy playing with it.
  2. Got a power ball of these: http://nsdball.com/ It is really addictive and it gives your arms and shoulders a hell of a workout. They also say it's good for musicians, but I don't know if that's true. However, I do know that I'm having a great time playing with it. Fun as hell!
  3. What about a "White North HFC jam" in Ottawa or Montreal? I've been thinking about this for a little while, he, he...
  4. You guys should organize a Florida HFC event the next winter.
  5. ...which I like better --and I was actually thinking on that one when I posted.
  6. My list is very short: sw686blue (Nick) GusS (Gus) BlueRedWhite (Ana) I know however some of you do have very long lists. Wanna share them here?
  7. Too cool! Would anybody sell me a checkerboard Vector?
  8. It's funny how nobody has said the word "Kahler" so far --and it won't be me who will, of course, he, he...
  9. Inlays are too fancy, it's got a custom paint job and a locking tremolo... I guess we need a slab of mahogany, no inlays (or just dots), no binding, just one pup, wraparound bridge, natural finish, no knobs (or just one) and no pickguard if possible.
  10. What the hell is that?
  11. Sustainblock all the way, closely followed by TOM bridge with strings-through-body, closely followed by wraparound.
  12. Several months ago my bandmate Yannick gave to my wife an old Ibanez banjo --I'm still wondering why he did so... My friend also gave her an instructional book and a CD --and I wonder again what's the reason behind all those presents... My wife says she will learn to play it eventually, that she would play the "Flying O" in contrast to my "Flying Vees", etc.; but she never finds the time to practice. The thing is collecting dust in a corner of my basement, but it looks really beautiful. It is quite heavy, and it's full of decorations and all those fancy things. I guess someday I'll have to learn to play it --I don't even know how a banjo is tuned!
  13. Certainly not me, but I'm very close: Guitar --> treble booster --> amp Note: "-->" above means Planet Waves cables.
  14. Frankly, never. I'm still looking forward to seeing one "in person".
  15. More from Freddie: Freddie Mercury - (if you ever had a short-lived, high-intensity love affair, this one should sound quite sad to your ears )Freddie Mercury - Queen - (more pathetic than sad, but well...)Freddie Mercury - (Again, more pathetic than sad. BTW, I know it's The Platters', but Freddie nails it the right way IMHO)
  16. Sad in which sense? Love? Or just sad? In any case, these are some of the saddest songs that come to my mind: Queen - Nevermore Queen - (have a listen to the too)Queen - Love of my life Queen - (though it's a hope song too there's also a lot of sadness on this one)A couple of classic ones now: The Beatles - Yesterday The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby (it is almost creepy how I think of my aunt Raquel every time I listen to it) Well, at this point you are already in tears, right?
  17. Just wish you the chosen quebecker wasn't George St-Pierre. Happy Canada Day to everyone!
  18. Happy birthday, Conrad!
  19. It doesn't look like any Hamer to me --though it doesn't look bad at all. I support the theory of pickup switching. In any case, the facts are your daughter's got a shredder and you came to the coolest music-related forum ever, so cheers to you and to that guitar.
  20. I have many albums I can listen from head to tail without missing a beat: - The Beatles: No matter which album. - Queen: any pre-80 album + "The Game", "A Kind Of Magic" and "Innuendo" - King Diamond: any album BUT "Fatal Portrait", "House Of God" and "Abigail II (The Revenge)" --as those are IMHO his worst ones (or the less good ones, to be more precise ) - Queensryche: "The Warning" and "Operation Mindcrime" - Megadeth: "Countdown to Extinction" - Annihilator: "Never, Neverland" - Mercyful Fate: "In the Shadows" - Deep Purple: "Machine Head" and "Burn" - Helloween: "The Keeper of the Seven Keys", Part I & II - Blind Guardian: "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" - Brian May: "Back to the Light" - Black Sabbath: "Dehumanizer" - Yngwie Malmsteen: "Trilogy" and "Odyssey" - Michael Schenker: "The Michael Schenker Group" (1980) and "Assault Attack" (1982) - Alcatrazz: "No Parole From Rock 'N' Roll" (1983) and "Disturbing the peace" (1984) - Scorpions: "Taken By Force" ...and there's even more, but I got tired.
  21. If I had designed that system, I would have put a bridge with roller saddles on the base plate too. That way you would have two screws more to anchor the system to the guitar. BTW, I see the B5 is not included, so you'd have to pay like 120 bucks for the Bigsby, plus the Vibramate at 59.99. I think I prefer the Stetsbar then, in spite of the higher price. In addition, this video shows how extreme you can go with it: Nevertheless, please let us know how the Vibramate goes.
  22. I feel really tempted to buy a Gibson Gothic Flying V and then install on it one of those black Stetsbars --the ones with the iron cross. I think that would look cool as hell. --ok, that was cheesy... but what do you want? I'm getting too much into doom and black metal lately.
