  1. Got it. That's unfortunate. It depends. If they mean they're no longer doing any business with Hamer, that would be very fortunate for other dealers.
  2. Never say never with Hamer USA. Chapps, SS models, who knows what else. All the naysayers can now open their wallets. ...now that Jol is gone, the fun is back.
  3. Hey man! You rhythm tone sounds very Queen-ish! Absolutely love it! Thanks a lot for posting this! BTW, too bad the pups didn't fit to that axe, but now that's a great reason to buy just another guitar, isn't it?
  4. I want a present for Christmas: a picture of your white Vector with the new pickups and a couple of sound clips.
  5. Wow! I'm speechless! Congrats to your son!
  6. Welcome to the board! Slammer Series are the sh*t!
  7. You did it at this point, right? Pictures of that V with its new pups, please!
  8. Prompt healing and best wishes, my friend!
  9. You're not alone! The set of these are destined to end up in one particular Vector Sound samples, please!
  10. You're not alone!
  11. ehem....McChris: i just checked..everything is in order...down there and up here... i'll spare you the pic But... why sparing us the pic? We even have the Outer Circle for that kind of stuff!
  12. If you like Hamer enough to be a member of this board, why do you have other non-Hamer guitars? (I know why I do, but I want to know why *you* do) I own several Deans because, one, I discovered their ergonomics was perfect to me; two, they do sound great; and three, I also discovered I could afford them more than Hamers. Do you want more Hamer USAs? Yes. I still want a Korina Vector and one day I'll purchase one, but for now I have other priorities in my life. Do you only buy them when the price is irresistible? No. I've paid more than 1K for at least five Hamers in my life, and I still own two of those --my blueburst and my camo Vectors were 1.2K and 1.5K, respectively. Do you only want certain types of Hamers? I love Vectors and do favor them, but I also like the Diablo, the Centaura and the Talladega. Phantoms with 6-in-line headstocks also get me really excited. All specs being equal, does the name "Hamer USA" on a guitar make you more likely to buy it? All specs being equal, does *not* having the name "Hamer USA" make you less like to buy a specific guitar? Yes! The Hamer USA logo is what says that, well... it's a Hamer USA, and those are guitars I absolutely (though not unconditionally) love. What would make you restrict your collecting to only Hamers? Is that even possible? It would be possible only if Hamers costed the same Deans cost. What could make you willing to restrict yourself to playing only Hamers? Is that even possible? See previous answer. Do you consider yourself a Hamer collector more than a guitar collector or vice versa? No. In fact, I'm not a collector at all. I like having several guitars, but I play them all. Guitars are meant to be played! Do you consider yourself a guitarist more than a guitar collector? Yes. See previous answer. Would you say that a Hamer USA is a necessary part of a professional/serious guitarist's guitar stable? If so, which one(s)? No. Players should use what fit them better and what they like better sonically. Hamer is just one posibility amongst many others. Would you say that a professional/serious guitarist should stick to one brand? Why or why not? No. See previous answer.
  13. Hamer guitars are awesome, but I'm no longer as loyal to the brand as I used to be. I'm playing Dean almost all the time at this point. You know, Hamer remains at the top to me, but American Deans are still great guitars and I can get one for a fraction of the price I'd pay for a Hamer. That's why right now I own just two Hamers and three Deans --and perhaps a fourth one will join my stable soon.
  14. Yeah, I should have added both Kramer and Charvel to the list.
  15. I'd say it's Jackson, as the Randy Rhoads V, the King V and the Kelly have all reached legendary status at this point. Frankly, when I think metal I think Jackson before any other brand. However, maybe both ESP (with Metallica's, George Lynch's, the DV-8 and others) and B.C. Rich (with Kerry King's V and Warrior, as well as Chuck Schudilner's Stealth) follow closely. I also added Dean to the poll, because of Dime's Dean From Hell + some many other guitars played by the new breed of metal bands (Arch Enemy's, Trivium...), even if Dean's palette equally covers other less metal artists, such as Michael Schenker --just to mention one... I completed the list (or so I think) with Schecter, Washburn and Ibanez. Ok, the later we all know it's not purely metal, but it's popular enough amongst metal players and shredders to deserve a place in the list, right? So, which one would you choose and why?
  16. You bet! I used to be a big Rush fan, though after the "Exit Stage... Left" I stopped following them.
  17. I thought Uli Jon Roth's Sky Guitar had slant 30-something frets, but it's just the finish, as pictured here: Some Caparisons do have the slant frets though: The Orbit: The Horus:
  18. Thanks Greg! I'll think about the specs and will PM you to get a quote, ok? And if we finally make a deal, I'll put this one for sale then.
  19. Sexy as hell! Wadda you think, Nick?
  20. Ok, two pups then. But there are upcharges for other options anyway, right?
  21. How about allowing different body shapes? I mean, do a run of six all-mahogany guitars, no bling, natural or standard finish, unbound rosewood fretboard with dot inlays, either wraparound or TOM or sustainblock bridge and just one pup (either P-90 or humbucking) and "HFC" engraved on the truss-rod cover. I bet you'll get your six 2.5K orders in no time.
  22. Still available? If it is, I'll take it!
  23. Rosewood here. Ebony is too polished for my tastes, even if I own two guitars with ebony fretboards.
  24. Can I get a quote on the Vector Jr. anyway, please? Specs: - All mahogany - Rosewood fretboard - Dot inlays - One dogear P-90 (preferably a noiseless pup) - One volume control - Wrapper (or sustainblock?) - Either TV or vintage orange --or maybe a trans finish of some sort. - No guard (or small tortoise pickguard?) - No bling That would be absolutely kick-ass!
  25. Like the one above, but V-shaped and only one P-90's, and you got the perfect axe: the Vector Jr, of course.
