  1. Hey Ernie, did the matched pair guitars have USA STAMPS ON THE BACK of the headstocks? Also, I’m surprised to see the older arrowhead TRCS on those two. If it were me I’d run away from the EBay listing.
  2. I ordered this strap from Souldier a few years back after @cmatthes had his cool checkerboard straps produced by Couch. It’s a nice, hardly used strap but it’s not as cool as the @cmatthes straps. Here’s the proposition: Any HFC Member who donates 10$ or more to the HFC will be eligible to win the strap, with the winning name to be drawn by me. If you donate and win, I will cover the cost of the postage (Domestic US Only). to ship the strap to you. I’m hoping to achieve at least 4-5 10$ HFC donations from this Raffle. Submit donations via PayPal to At HFC@hikarate.com READY, SET, DONATE. The Deadline to make a donation and be eligible for the giveaway is Sat 21 Mar at 6 PM PDT. I will make the drawing on Sun 22Mar ETA: IF YOU MAKE A DONATION, PLEASE POST TO THIS THREAD, SO THAT I CAN KEEP TRACK of the eligible names. TIA! Good Luck
  3. Built for duh 7 String Maestro Hisself (Alex Gregory) https://reverb.com/item/91672464-roger-giffin-built-1994-gibson-custom-shop-korina-explorer-7-string-36-fret I Want to say that I’ve seen This one previously ( some aspects are cool) While he was at Gibson Roger Griffin built Gibsons for the likes of John McLaughlin I just Added rhis and the Gary Moore Standard to my cart (JK)
  4. Is this the same case for a Kor junior?
  5. @RobB: nice catch👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨! Eric is a great guy, and has a wonderful shop.- about 15 years ago I bought a new custom Martin 0021 (with cutaway) that Eric SPEC’d, both my 00 and I believe your Radio King feature the longer Martin OM and Dreadnaught scale length of 25.4”, which makes these guitars much more powerful than a similar 24.9 “ scale guitar would be. enjoy!
  6. It can’t get more shut the EFF up and rock than that - have fun, and dibs
  7. Those amps are worth their weight in gold, I have a ‘65: fantastic reverb
  8. I’d lean toward mahogany, if possible remove the truss rod cover and see what color the wood is.
  9. Nicklebag Tim?
  10. Based on the thread title I thot we’s talkin’ a Burt’s Bees boost.
  11. @santellavision Is there a constant breeze in your practice space as a result of the continuous ingress and egress of gear?
  12. Totally cool! Nice mahogany also. Dear Santa…. GLWTS!
  13. By chance is the back (and possibly back of the neck) bursted as well?
  14. @stonge is that the original Hamer branded case? If so, I would call that a bargain!
  15. https://www.discogs.com/artist/116329-The-Fireballs Sone of their material was produced by Norman Petty, who also worked with Buddy Holly.
  16. Hey @hamerhead Did you get your T-51 Fishman working?
  17. One must see the movie Monterey Pop and watch Booker T and the MGs back up Otis Redding. Cropper’s rig that night was an early ‘60’s slab board Tele into a Marshall plexi half stack.
  18. Shee-it! Looks like you could grate Parmesan on those knobs!
  19. Wok n woll quazy nights, you are the hewoah tonite
  20. NAAAHHH, the back is bursted too!? Unreal, love it, and would love to hear how you acquired it, and, DIBS! When I saw the Brian Ray SG Jr. on his Gibson TV episode I immediately thought “SG Jr. shot with a Melody Maker finish”. IMO the tobacco SB is a lot more interesting than a cherry finish.
  21. Now you can incorporate some Sigur Ros into your setlist
  22. You’re a lucky man, that’s quite a trio! Is the Tobacco sunburst on the right an original finish? If so, cool, I was not aware that the double cutaway LPJrs came in that finish. Either way, I love that Gibson TSB finish from @ 1960. My second good guitar (after a ‘69 SG STD) was a 1961 Melody Maker, double cutaway, two pickup model. Same TSB finish. What a neck that MM had!
