I'll put it very simply: If Northfield and NEWMAN60 are building it, I'm going to find a way to buy one. I don't need 100% to have the Hamer logo on there. To me, those guys are a huge part of the magic in the guitars I know and love.

Keep the dealers out of this one. If you want to get the pricing down, the only way to do that here is a direct model. They won't keep lists or handle deposits for free.

Sorry. No arrogance at all here. The USA made Hamers are simply light years better, all around. It's not snobbery, the woods are far superior, the guys doing the building are world class luthiers, not assembly line workers...it's a HUGE difference.

I can do a decent bolt on neck myself. No interest, unless it's a Cali.

The bolt on concept won't work. Too much out there, unless you're talking Californians.

I still think a doublecut or TLE/Talladega body with a 4-digit style Standard headstock would do the trick.

Those guitars will NEVER be $1,000. The concept behind a "WMG", is a stripped down, no-frills, tone machine. That's the space the Specials filled. Once you start blinging things up, you've moved past the WMG range.

I've had (and have now) Mahogany Standards in that weight range or lighter - unchambered. I've also played Korina Standards that were well over 10 lbs.

Tuners also aren't original.

A 2002 would NOT be chambered.

All the Korina they can eat!

They can't work on Hamer stuff during the work week because the Guild production takes up all their time. Those guys log Saturday hours when they can to get things knocked out in a significantly scaled down shop.

Ace and Peter were in the band when they wrote and recorded 95% of their quality catalog. Singer and Thayer have learned the Ace and Peter parts, not created anything really.
