  1. This is a VERY cool tribute to Bil. Great idea, Gene!
  2. Absolutely lovely. Great guitar for a great price.
  3. Ace and Peter were in the band when they wrote and recorded 95% of their quality catalog. Singer and Thayer have learned the Ace and Peter parts, not created anything really.
  4. Mike - is that going to be a no binding one, no "soundhole" one, like Jeff Ament's?
  5. Thumbs up, Northfield!
  6. Exactly what B. Dave said above. A last minute flight is usually prohibitively expensive.
  7. I don't care what the HC/TGP people claim - Agile guitars are pieces of crap.
  8. Well, you can't legally sell or possess stolen goods. My first inclination is to see if there is a completed eBay transaction in the last couple of weeks between kinky CA student and the (most likely suspect) pawnshop that had your other stuff. I would take a wild guess that the nearby pawnshop is pretty experienced at liquidating stolen goods... You could also take your story to a local TV News investigation team - they're always hunting for stories.
  9. I took a break to hang with a few HFC'ers on the Song Is King cast, but was spinning "Everywhere At Once", by The Plimsouls, then the iPod on shuffle. We got a hair over a foot, but are supposed to get another 2"-4" tonight. This one refuses to stay inside...
  10. It's almost SIK time - it's a snowday off from work, so I have a rare opportunity to listen in real time for a change...with a beer! Tune in, snowbound (and other) HFC'ers! 4pm ET, gashouseradio.com http://gashouseradio.com/lineup/songisking/ (hit "Listen Now" button)
  11. What is this "practice" of which you speak??
  12. Thanks, MP! I think those pics have given me the final inspiration for a particular project I've got kicking around... NICE!
  13. Brand new iPhone thinks it knows how to spell better than I do. That is definitely not the case!
  14. Chaparral/Cali case. Prototype cases are the same as Sunbursts, Specials, Stevens, etc.
  15. Those were not very common, but there are more than just those small few out there. The Maple Board was a catalog option back then.
  16. Tommy was playing Hamers before '91, so highly doubtful that Ted turned him on to those. That was more likely one that he got from Tommy (or Hamer) and didn't like enough to keep. He had pretty much switched to PRS for live stuff by then.
  17. I am not 100% sure, but isn't Tommy's in that video Nathan posted a Black Cherry Metallic one? I know he had a maple-boarded one in that finish during the DY days.

  19. Sparkle Drive or Crunchy Frog maybe?
  20. Cool guits! Did the seller change the pickups in the HB model?
  21. That's probably because they've never actually played an Explorer or Standard. I was really surprised at how light they were the first time I tried one out. I was expecting all that real estate to fight gravity a lot more than it did!
  22. That's a good looking Standard, but at over 10 lbs., that is a BRICK!! No thanks. I've never had a Standard weigh near that much.
  23. If it was the 13th, that would have been the number in 1977!
  24. Rich is in the UK, so he would likely get pounded with import duties, VAT, etc.
