  1. Ditto on those. Serial's VOS R4 is light, mean and easy to love. It changed my mind.
  2. I think THIS is what y'all were looking for: Them boys wuz bringin' th'rawk that night, f'sherrrrr.
  3. In the meantime, I'll measure that B-12A case if you'd like. It is the same size on the outside that my longscale Standard 8 string bass case was, but maybe an inch shorter lengthwise. I'll email you the dimensions if you'd like. CM
  4. If its the Bass I'm thinking about, I'll be happy to "hold" it for you! Actually, I've got a case that MAY work, but it's a B-12A case (New old stock). It might need some interior modding? I'll take a look at it tonight. If you ever decide to move that bass Frank (the one we almost did a deal on years ago), PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!
  5. I don't think that Ed was as big of an @$$#013 back in the day - I think that he seriously started losing his mind in the late 80s/early 90s. Right around the time he became irrelevant. I'm still a huge fan of the 70s/80s VH, esp the DLR stuff. His sound was just exciting - I can't think of another word for it. It still rips. Newer stuff...forgettable.
  6. This is when Eddie was fun: Eddie on Dave (Letterman)
  7. If you waited that long for him to pay, he can cool his heels until the damned thing gets to him. I'd move on and not worry about it at all.
  8. One time is all the lesson I'd need. F him.
  9. Okay, it's the Fridays KC, but they NEVER would have made SNL!! I still love that song... Elephant Talk - Fridays
  10. I still remember hearing "Discipline" for the first time. I was in a Mall Record store (and thinly-veiled head shop, as many were back then) and remeber hearing "Elephant Talk" over the system. REALLY loud. I can't recall who said it first, but not having heard Belew before (just reading a few articles about his playing), I remember mentioning that that HAD to be that Belew guy. Sure enough, it was, and I walked out with that Album. The hands-down coolest version of KC ever.
  11. My favorite will always be the '81 Karen Black/Cheap Trick show. It just rocked. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - "Refugee" and "Don't Do Me Like Dat". A favorite. Ditto on the Costello performance. I also REALLY liked the '91 Teenage Fanclub spot. Recently, I think the Strokes were great as was the Pearl Jam show from a year ago or so.
  12. My old drummer's band played at the Fortune Magazine "Battle of the Corporate Bands" there in '04 and '05. I tagged along, but although there are some cool things there, overall it was kind of a letdown. I agree that I've seen more interesting stuff in a couple of the Hard Rock Cafes around the world than there. Even the gift shop is pretty boring - it looks like it was lifted right out of a Tower Records store, except for the line ropes. I did enjoy a coupla beers with our own Johnny Thunders upstairs, so it wasn't ALL bad!!
  13. I see the same kind of response to hundreds of things on the Gear Page on a regular basis - often far worse than here. Harmony Central? I won't even waste my time there. Anything you post, you're going to get a ton of people for, against or both - that's just the way life is. I posted something on TGP last night about this very same thing. There were a few camps going back and forth about something being better than something else, and vice-versa...same old shit. Guess what? Don't ever expect anybody else to like what you like, feel the same way about a piece of gear or tone as you do, dig the same music you like, etc. We're all different. Nobody's right or wrong, just know what THEY like. It's the Internet. Get over it. FWIW, I think there are a lot of cool things about that cab. It may not be my thing (I'm too lowbrow when it comes to amps/cabs), but somebody put the thought and effort into making it for a particular purpose, so I think that's cool in itself. No big deal, dude.
  14. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Frank. Chris
  15. You started out with a fantastic Hamer. I love my M3.
  16. Or a clever Photoshop mockup of a Custom Order.
  17. Here are a couple more - sorry about the AWFUL pic! It does neither of these justice:
  18. Like this? Not mine, but a spectacular Standard: And what's wrong with one of these I ask ya?
  19. In the interest of saving you money, just do what Rick (well, his poor tech) does - lay out a 3 ft. strip of gaffer's tape and lay out the picks point-first. Tape 2-4 of those to your mic stand and you too are a rock god.
  20. Colbert Shredfest ;D
  21. Colbert rawked the talkbox
  22. He was pathetic! Of course, Colbert brought it with the Korina Hamer 5 neck! Checkerboard Studio/Special on the stand too. Frampton pulled it out...
  23. Funny as hell into the first 30 seconds tonight! WATCH IT. (Hamer content already? Checkerboard strap, and Nielsen and Trick do the theme song)
  24. I STILL want Kiz' red Firebird. Of course, I STILL don't have anything to trade for it...
