I've also seen a B-8s in that finish. That should have been (should be!)a stock finish, but it wasn't.

The Chap Max is a cool bass (one of my favorites), but it isn't a maple-topped bass. It should be a solid maple body. The quilt on that one isn't spectacular, but I've seen a few pinstriped flamey ones as well and there are a lot of variations out there. It is a set-neck, not a neck-through. The only neck-through Hamer bass I am aware of were some of those later Impact prototype models (the exotic wood ones, not the Kip Winger ones), and I think there are only a couple of those around. I played my Max at practice last night in fact - love the neck on that one!

Funny you mentioned that... I was thinking about the same thing for this pink MIJ Strat body for a guitar my son is putting together. It would be a cool way to "lock in" that moment in time.

Definitely a loss. That guy had a great voice, whether or not you cared for the band (I liked them for years, until "Third Stage"). His parts were definitely not "Scholzed", and it is still amazing to me that he was as freakin' young as he was when he recorded them.

Ebay Law #1... "Don't drink and bid"! A guy Elduave and I know was up late one night, hammered out of his skull, and ended up with a $4,500 Lobster Tank. No option on that guitar is out of the current availability from Hamer. If that was your spec for a custom order, you could certainly get it together and it wouldn't list out at anywhere near $10k!!

We're working on that. It will be given away at some point either at an HFC regional event via raffle (where EVERYBODY may participate - need not be present to win kind of thing) or some other way of making it available to the membership. There's a lot of stuff going on right now, but rest assurred that we want to make it as fun and fair as possible for all. You'll hear it here first!
