I had no idea what Jay's real name was until today. Hell, I knew Ed Rechts was a nom de plume, but if I'd known his actual name, I'd have accepted his "Bookface" friend request ages ago <Doh!>. We had some truly rich and entertaining convos via this site (they now show him as "Deleted Member"). I'm re-reading them now with fondness and a laugh. Cancer is a brutal, equal opportunity killer. I fucking hate it. To know that it sucks the life out of humans as clever, witty, and irreverent as Jay makes it worse. Cheers to the Ron Swanson of the HFC. Or perhaps Ron was the Ed Rechts of Parks & Recreation.

Jim Croce was truly great. Steve Goodman, too. That era produced some incredibly gifted writers, story tellers, and players.

Pretty sure OJ is in hell, but...uhhh....Oh, I get it. You meant OJ as in orange juice. But seriously, that is a great and believable story.

Mike Love's version of the band is like ordering Beach Boys tickets from Wish. It has some resemblance to the real thing...but the real thing it ain't.

My band opened for him in Raleigh in '94. A monster player and genuinely nice guy. He played my P-90 Special for a couple of minutes and said, "Hmm. Nice guitar."

I like how they addressed the upper fret access on this reboot. The headstock is fine, however I do prefer the banana on this body style.

Those were some of the coolest non traditional designs. Wish they'd caught on and made in larger numbers back then!
