  1. Are you saying that Alice is a Republican? I have no idea. But your mention of 1% implies that the backlash is because he's rich. Well, the Phish guys and Dave Matthews are just as rich if not richer, so that's not it.
  2. Keeping things fresh by mixing in parts of a 30+-year-old song? Can't say I agree with that take, but Alice is indeed still bringing it. The hippies are cheesed that bands like Alice Cooper are playing at Bonnaroo because it represents how the fest has become bloated, corporate and a far, far cry from what it was originally. Not unlike how the Sunset Strip rockers are still bitter toward the grunge nerds for kicking their asses to the curb. Or how you like a band when they're obscure, but when they become mainstream, you like them less.
  3. That is wild, another great story! Not so much for the boyfriend who got dumped!
  4. As my sports writer buddy always says in situations like this: You outkicked your coverage big time. Certainly a higher caliber of woman than you'd expect to see with a guy who once rode around in a Ford Taurus with me and Steve Haynie.
  5. You mean like this? The moon is off-center.
  6. Indeed. 32 years removed.
  7. That's Cool with me. We all have a differant perspective. Edited to add: Just found this... http://www.vhnd.com/...to-extend-tour/ Did you not notice that Jaye posted this an hour before the post you made last night? I made the mistake of basing my reaction on a Rolling Stone article that was chock full of quotes and info from anonymous sources. The fact that the use of which has become commonplace these days is a scourge on all forms of journalism, A "reporter" can essentially put anything he/she wants into the public realm with zero accountability. All "news" these days is mere publicity.
  8. My one absolute deal breaker is a painted headstock on a neck with a maple fretboard. I wouldn't own a guitar like that if somebody gave it to me.
  9. You really went out on a limb there!
  10. A shame. The album is a legit triumph IMO. No matter what the unnamed sources in the article say, the band members don't hate each other. Eddie and Alex hate Dave.
  11. Nothing to say, really. Not sure why I even typed all of that on here. Anywho, sorry we got off on the wrong foot a few months ago. Understandable that we'd both be a little salty. Glad to have you on the HFC.
  12. I too am sorry for your loss. I can relate, somewhat. Wifey and I endured several miscarriages and finally stillborn twins, which truly was a living nightmare. Understandably, we gave up trying after that and figured if it was meant to be, it would happen with no fertility treatments and would go to full term. She's not been pregnant since, which is partially a relief, partially a shame. A little bit of me died with each of the failed pregnancies. Yesterday being mother's day, it was tough for both of us. Always is. But, we move ahead. Some days it's easier to do than others. As for the song, it's stuff like the one you posted that puts Alter Bridge way ahead of its peers.
  13. Those could be Serbian moonshine faces. I guarantee that's what I'm making! And a woman kinda has to be a sport to be married to me!
  14. This one: Because I played it at our wedding reception:
  15. You should at least torch the case. Again, is the value of the time you'll spend cleaning the previous owner's filth out of it worth saving $50 or so on a new one?
  16. Unless his cost is zero dollars, I'm against this idea.
  17. Those who know me will tell you (warning: epic understatement coming) that I have a knack for hyperbole. I stand by my contention, however, that to go to extraordinary lengths to acquire an Epiphone, including boxing up a perfectly good guitar and shipping it off to someone in exchange for one, seems silly. And STM said it himself: you can't put a pricetag on the time he's lost dealing with this horseshit, all for an Epiphone that came in a case that reeked of cigarette smoke and cat piss and DIDN'T EVEN WORK! Seriously. Re-read that bolded part. I make two assumptions about grown men: that they presumably have lives, and possibly have wives and/or kids. Is it really worth sacrificing a nanosecond you could have otherwise devoted to either of those things to acquire a used Epiphone? Priorities, people.
  18. That picture is all over the web. In context here, it's associated with one person, as it should be. Why should you care what I think of Epiphones?
  19. I have no issue with that. I do have an issue with grown men having low standards for their luxury items. Does anyone REALLY need a Korean Epiphone so badly that they'd enter into a trade with an unproven n00b?
  20. And let this be a lesson to everyone here: NEVER under any circumstance acquire an Epiphone, unless it's from an era when the name meant something and was not merely Gibson's Korean knockoff brand, or unless murkat worked on it.
  21. The worst part about it is, we weren't even arguing. We were pointing out what a piece of shit he is.
