  1. Upload that sumbitch here: http://www.rapidshare.com/
  2. I had no idea there were Slammer Series Cruisebasses. Incredible deal there.
  3. So it is Amberburst? I assumed it was '59 Burst with not a lot of red in it.
  4. You also had to read the original TGP thread I referenced in the quote from Poe's signature. Some guy ripping on DLR's solo vocal track from "Runnin' With the Devil" and thinking he'd be congratulated for his observation. Little did he know that anyone who knows anything about music was able to recognize it as the brilliant vocal that it is. Epic fail on that guy's part, and thus my reaction.
  5. Yep. Here's a clip of one of my cohorts getting the absolute most out of my AF-9 and CMatMods Deeelay in combination, certainly more than I've ever gotten out of them: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8209547 This guy can step up to any rig or pedalboard and make them sound amazing. Pure '70s blaxploitation sounds if you ask me.
  6. Love it. Far superior to my ears than the Emma Discumbobulator, which is the cat's-ass envelope filter among all the Mogami-cable-using corksniffers out there.
  7. That I am! HEY! Let's go get us an Indian down the alley!
  8. Electric shock. The wiring sucks in this new venue we're playing at.
  9. God knows I can use all the help I can get in that area.
  10. You weigh 140 right? It might be heavier than you! There are 16 tracks (mastered for free by our own Colin) at the ReverbNation link in my sig; those comprise our demo. I also post 10 edits from every jam on our MySpace page; I'll have a new set up later today. I used to have an entire website with over 500 recordings uploaded, but that thing went tits up about a year ago, and I can't get anyone to help me get it back up and running. I still have all the recordings, though, so that's good. SoundClick will have to do for now; I add a new edit every Friday. Everything we play is improvised on the spot. In 5+ years we've never played the same thing twice.
  11. Thanks. Fuckin' love it! Of course, all this factors in as well: Teh rig: Teh pedals:
  12. Ted gave me a free bowl of soup with it when he sold it to me.
  13. God I love this guitar. Seeing as my foot is perpetually planted on my wah, I'm sure the pics below were taken during the solo captured at this SoundClick link: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8197224
  14. Actually, it appears that these will be in the $500 and under price point. So I take back what I said about Baby Boomers. They'll still sell, but to the Guitar Hero/Rock Band demographic. http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/jan...releases-220966 http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/blo...-a-strat-220867
  15. Ah, but maybe they do get it. Maybe that's the market they're going for: non-guitar playing baby boomers with lots of cash to spend on things that remind them of their youth who could care less whether it says Fender or Gibson on the headstock, as long as it looks like what Jimi played at Woodstock. Make no mistake, there are plenty of lemmings who will buy these. This ain't the Robot Guitar.
  16. There are a few country guitarists who play them. That's the market they should be hitting hard. I don't see their newer models resonating with today's rock or metal players. That said, it sure seems that Hamer could care less about artist endorsements, other than a handful of Jol's personal favorite players. One of the many things about Hamer that's at once maddening and admirable.
  17. +1 on the headstock argument. (Which is supported by the fact that Standards and Cali's, etc. consistently fetch a higher price.) How do you explain the prices of Tyler guitars then? That's unquestionably the ugliest headstock in the biz (although I find it oddly appealing for that exact reason). There was a period in the late '80s/early '90s where Hamer's 3+3 headstocks looked like barely crafted blanks, but I don't think that's the case anymore.
  18. "Worth" and "market value" are two different things. Clearly many Hamers are worth a couple grand or more based on quality of materials and workmanship, but rarely do they fetch that much on the used market. If you buy a new Hamer and to you it's worth every penny you paid for it, perfect! If you buy a new Hamer with resale value in mind, well, you probably shouldn't buy a new Hamer.
  19. Dig it! I'd keep it as is (or was before the sticker) but that's just me. Enjoy!
  20. I'd classify everything they've done since "High N Dry" as pop rock, along the same lines as the Outfield or Mister Mister. Their rock ain't hard, just like their hair metal ain't metal.
  21. So, the last time you checked was around 1982?
  22. Ummm, that would be this Sunday night.
  23. The Rub emerges from a several-month hiatus to (hopefully) begin a regular monthly gig at a new venue, the Griffith Town Tap on Main St. in Griffith, Indiana. Music starts around 8 pm.
  24. Love it! Mine's a couple pieces of faux concrete left over from a bathroom rehab, glued together with Liquid Nails, with a carpet remnant on the bottom and a piece of fabric that Velcro sticks to on top.
