A Godin LG I got for tree-fiddy, with hard case. Put some Peter Florance Voodoo P90's in it, Schaller locking tuners, string saver saddles. If not using Pro-Tools is going back to basics then the guy is clueless. A lot of high end studios record to tape then dump to pro-tools for editing and mixing. It just makes the engineers job easier not the bands, makes no difference to the band really.

I never understood why people are so down on Ringo's drumming. They were mostly a vocal band, not a guitar band, or even a rock band. The drums were for keeping time, not playing flash fills. He played what was required, which to me shows more talent than showing off. The Beatles were not the Who, or Zeppelin. A Hard Day's Night with Moon drumming? ROTF! Ringo wasn't doofy and annoying either, he was the most grounded, ego-less, and unaffected of all the Beatles.

I'd be happy enough with my import Hamer XT Sunburst with a SD P90 stack in the bridge. Cost me less then tree-fiddy including the SD, and I'm pretty sure still worth less than that. Plays fine, it's light, and it sounds far better than it should. (It's missing a string, needs a new set, and haven't had chance to change them yet)

I use D'Addario light jazz 12-52 on my '94 Daytona with no problems. I did have it set up, and plek'd, professionally when I first bought it though. My trem is blocked also.

1976-80, Unknown name combo about the size of a cereal box (first amp) HH 212 100w combo (way too big got rid) 1980's Crate combo. I think it was 30w, in the 'crate' wooden box. VOX AC15 Orange 50w head w/homemade 4x12 cab, Celestions. 1990's Trace Elliot AH100 bass head, Peavey Bass FEX, w/Hartke 2x10 and 1x18 cabs Fender Bassman head (used sometimes with the TE biamped) Ampeg 8x10 used with TE occasionally in studio. That's all I remember, haven't played live or owned/used a real amp for years. Guitar Rig, Ampeg SVX, PC, TOA D-4 mixer, and good headphones these days lol.

I have no probs getting in perfect tune, never even thought about the ratio really. Using a Peterson StroboSoft to tune with no problems.

And I believe they offer a staggered set as well which I have read work well with Strat style guitars. Sperzel have staggered set for Strats also, came standard on Daytonas.

I don't 'feel' a difference either, there is far more I notice between gits playability than the fretboard. I do hear the sound though... For example I have an Ebony fretboard Ovation, my Daytona is Maple and my XT Sunburst is Rosewood. The Ebony adds crispness and snap to the otherwise bass heavy 'O' 1778T. The Maple makes my Daytona much brighter than Rose would (rosewood lol) which is what I wanted from a 'Strat' style git. And the Rosewood on my Seymour Duncan P90 loaded XT helps it sound warm, fat and vintage, like it should. So I have no favourite fretboard really, just the right one for my needs I guess.

Are you saying if NB were the SC they wouldn't dress like stupid gits? Nah that can't be right it makes no sense? NB wouldn't know the first thing about (Mod) style.

I guess it depends on how you define 'good'. Good because the band are quality musicians, or good because they can create something people seem to like? The Sex Pistols were not great musicians but I'd consider them one of the best bands of the 70's, for many reasons other than their ability to play a billion chords per song in some ancient key only they know about... I don't like Spears either but she sells records, so to a lot of people she is a better artist than people who's music they don't buy. Art is subjective and should not be dismissed simply because it's not technically proficient enough for you, or even that people like it for reasons other than it being good technically. Isn't art simply 'anything arranged in a way that effects emotions'? Maybe I'm wrong and I'm open to explore that, but for now that's my take on it....

Nope, sorry if I made that impression but no I'm not a Nickelback fan, I don't own anything they've put out and have only heard their radio stuff. You seem to have read far more in my post than I wrote? Nah mate, I was just wondering why it's so popular to slag them off is all, they seem no worse than the rest of the hair and cowboy boots bands that have been around since the 60's, or whatever. I mentioned KISS really cause they seem to get a lot of respect nowadays, I guess people forget they were crappy musicians, and their songs had no relevance to anything but 'party on dooodes'. I could mention a thousand other bands that are not slagged off with the same enthusiasm of nickyorback, and in fact some of them considered rock icons (like kiss), yet they sucked probably worse than nickerback. Their hair sucks. And the clothes, oh my god the clothes...Hmmmmm yeah doesn't about 90% of the rock establishment look like that. Paul Weller, now he's a man who knows how to dress....

They're not the best band ever but I don't understand all the hate for them, it's like they're the band everyone loves to hate. There is a lot worse out there that sell lots of records, any hair band from the eighties for example. Worse band ever? KISS. Yet they're worshiped like they invented rawk'n'roll. And they looked like crap, cartoons. How can anyone take them seriously?
