I sent one of the E120s to Dan Jamison (dan-jam.com). He came recommended by Brad Sarno and is know in the Grateful Dead board. Fast turn around ad great communication. Measured the magnet, 13,000 gauss Only a quick trial using the Marshall 50W and no pedals, Studio Custom with Gravelins, sounds great. Plenty of treble but not overpowering. I'll update as I try it with different guitars, with pedals and with the Boogie MKIIA. And more volume. I certainly don't regret spending a little money to find out for myself. Only downside is weight if I want to take it to gigs

Les Paul Tuning Stability Trick
BoogieMKIIA replied to LucSulla's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
If it works for you, great. I’m with @hamerhead, the “Martin method” for stringing works great. One could have an issue with the nut slots. Raising the angle may avoid a pinch point on the back side. Interesting to think how the nut material might have an impact on a string catching. Regarding stringing methods, I tried Taylor’s method on my Taylor 12 string. It is an under/over method with the string end coming straight out of the tuner post. Looks great but tuning slipped even after being on for days. No problem when I went back to the Martin method. -
REO Speedwagon Tribute to Gary 3/7/26

I’ve had out of body moments listening to that song. Wish there were more close-ups of the leads. -
I’ve always loved a deep red finish on a guitar. Beautiful. And now 22 posts for a thread that was going to be short.

More pics! Do you know what the finish is? Natural or Aztec gold, maybe?

Just listened to Jessica and was very impressed, nailed the guitar tones. Makes you wonder what their own stuff would be. And different people do different songs. I recognized a person and a few names from here (Lexington, KY area), a few pros. But can’t say I’ve heard but one or two playing out. They really go all out for the sound of each song/band. I picked up a Mather 2x12 pine cab for a song from someone associated with this outfit. The guy said they used it for a project but no longer needed it.

I zoomed in on my original pic of the amp room and see a Route 66 across from the Z-lux. I don’t recall playing it specifically but may have. The Z-lux and both Wrecks were my favorites, and any I played sounded good.

Didn’t see one that I recall. One may be in a photo of the playing room. Frankie let me play whatever I wanted, went to another room to bring a Zwreck I don’t have a Z so I couldn’t really say. There is a page on their web site that gets some info like what you stated and someone there will respond. http://drzamps.com/amp-recommendation-form/ Also, look at the different amp descriptions. Dr. Z doesn’t do dual channels, some models have a boost function. They say you can go from clean to dirty by the guitar volume knob. True from my time in their shop but can’t say that would work to have a cleanish tone for leads at the same volume as a dirty/drive tone with the guitar volume all the way up. @bubs_42 would be a person to talk to about Z amps (Z28)

I bring two guitars, one is typically a spare and doesn't get played. Dingbat medium pedal board with various pedals, Boogie MKIIA 60 W combo, backpack with various accessories, cables and Quilter US Superblock as a backup. The other guys in the band help with lifting. If not for a second guitar I can get it in one load using a Flatform cart. I could gig with the Quilter and save bulk using a 1x12 cabinet. I prefer a speaker but could use this without if I got guitar via in ears or monitor. A smaller pedal board could be done. I have a difficult time changing guitars mid set. Once we get going there is not much time to switch and I get a good variety of tone with my Tele and pedals.

Playing a Battle of the Barrel tonight. One of the other bands pulled out the Hamilton one piece leg so I could hear my amp without turning it up too load. Worked great. I don't have an upper back panel but there is a flat chassis spot to one side. I think I'll get one

I played one in the shop with the Master volume, it's a tremendous amp. If you can't let it breathe a bit ( playing with a drummer loud), you will miss something. If you get dirt from pedals I think it would still be great, but you miss part of the magic when you turn up the gain. There is also a half power mod, you loose the speed/comfort switch. From your part of the world it would be expensive to ship back and forth for factory mods. Still, a great price and very usable if completely stock. I think the list for the set is US$4299.00

I have a typical tilt stand but rarely use it. It is a pain to carry and I place my slide, capo, picks and cloth on top of my combol. What @django49 has solves one problem if you have separate head and cab, I am using a combo. Another solution is having a hard case and setting the amp on top. No angle but may be raised high enough to improve what reaches your ear. And a half-stack with angled cab. With IEMs and the amp miked, I can hear it just fine in my monitor mix. Getting sustain/feedback doesn't work as well with the combo on the floor. When we play at a venue with wedge monitors, I'll get some guitar put thru and have fun controlling feedback. A tilt-back solution answers many concerns, just depends what one prefers.

I have not used any of these. How it would fit on the back of your amp has to be checked for clearance and what happens if it slips. https://www.paniquejazz.com/product/the-stick-minimalist-amp-tilt-back-stand/ https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KB60--hamilton-kb60-adjustable-tiltback-folding-amp-stand https://soundexchangeusa.com/products/triad-standback-compact-tilt-back-amplifier-support

It has warmed a little since I got here on Sunday, was in the single digits/teens. The snow is starting to go away.

Had I known @bubs_42 knew him well I could have mentioned him. Or maybe not?
