  1. Not sure. It's stock, but the COC just says "Wrapround bridge with compensating saddles". I'm guessing tonepros since they started using toneprose for their TOM's around then IIRC. - Austin
  2. That's right, I spent a few minutes this evening polishing the swirls out of a pickguard *hangs head in shame* On the other hand, whoever gets this next will have a cleaner looking pickguard! Also, I could not have imagined how awesome the TV Blonde finish is. Thought I'd be able to tolerate it at best, but it's absolutely lovely. -Austin
  3. From what I've seen, Vai has always done that throughout his career. The whole Favored Nations thing is as impressive as his music to me. - Austin
  4. Holy. Fucking. Shit. Seriously, that is the most unbelievably cool thing I've ever seen posted on the HFC. - Austin
  5. I like the Seth's as well! I don't want to restrict myself to considering only them. Right now I don't want to spend the $ for new and used don't seem to come up often. ArnieZ Used Seth Lovers for $125 shipped just got posted on TGP if you're interested. http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=939307 -Austin
  6. Suhr SSV neck and bridge set. - Austin
  7. Based on what I've seen of people trying to re-sell guitars from the NC auction, they will be clogging eBay and Gbase for many years to come. - Austin
  8. There's a Monaco Superpro that looks very much like that in the 2008 Hamer Calendar (except better-looking IMO). Don't imagine it cost that much though. Still, if that's what the market will bear, more power to him. - Austin
  9. The neck on my Monaco Elite is pretty much perfect but I've found that I'm not too bothered by different neck sizes in general. It probably helps that I really don't play all that well anyway. Still, the description on the Magnificent 7's just says "custom neck carve" which could mean anything really. conorb Yeah, I'm not sure why I think it's bigger; I think I may have emailed them about it many moons ago? Doesn't matter anyway, the wallet says no! - Austin
  10. Looks like they posted their Standards this morning. - Austin
  11. I love the specs on those Mag 7's, but the non-standard neck carve scares me. For some reason, I think it's bigger than the vintage carve? - Austin
  12. Some of those guitars have been there for years. I think it's a pretty sure bet that nobody want them at those prices - Austin
  13. Or at least it looks like they're working up to it. They aren't changing any of the pricing so what's the point? Free advertising while making it annoying for me to do Hamer searches? - Austin
  14. Yup. Plus you can tell, because the refin guy loves to use that color. - Austin
  15. His modern vintage PAF+ looks very interesting. I actually bought a P90 from him a few years back and it was pretty nice, plus he's a good guy. - Austin
  16. Well then...as of the thread title, you'd laid your hands on it? Tell more then. (getting deja vu here...dont know why...lol)...Absolutely fantastic, sleek looking guitar to say the least... eyes, not hands And that SSH Moriah is smoking! I like how they have the backplates attached magnetically too. -Austin
  17. Huh?!? Why is this the first time I've seen this. That's the guitar of my dreams! -Austin
  18. I just put a Distortion Neck in the bridge tonight. Definitely not a hot PAF, but less output than the Custom, a bit brighter, sounds better clean, but still has attitude. I'm liking it quite a bit. - Austin
  19. Forgot all about Wolfetones. The Marshallhead does seem like it would fit the bill. - Austin
  20. I actually have Custom in there now and it's awesome, but I was thinking about changing it into a Custom Custom and putting it into an incoming guitar. I was thinking of something a bit less ripping, but I might leave it in and get a new CC. - Austin
  21. I've had it for quite a while and I can't go with a BBQ because I have one in my Mirage II mapletop and I don't like having the same pickups in multiple guitars (I'm weird that way). Also the BBQ doesn't really have any qualities I'd call Paf-like. I just want something that's a bit beefier. The BBQ is, well the name says it all -Austin
  22. I'm putting regular humbuckers back in my blue Studio. I got it with a Fralin 8k neck and that's going back, I wasn't a fan of the Fralin 9k in the bridge; too weak and thin. I've had and liked the Suhr SSV+ in the bridge of a couple Studios, so that's my fallback choice. Wanted to see what other people have liked in that position though. I hear a lot of good stuff about the Dimarzio 36th, but don't know it that would be hot enough for me. - Austin
  23. Glad you're digging them; they're my favorite band' I've listened to their stuff so much it's in my DNA Skylarking is mellow in comparison to most of their stuff; but it's possibly their most brilliant album as a whole (as long as you can ignore Dear God ) and it's a perfect summer album, so the time is right to check it out. - Austin
