  1. Every Matthew Sweet song after and including the Girlfriend album (more or less). - Austin
  2. I paid $1500 for mine and sold it for about the same. I thought that was a good price. - Austin
  3. Steve beat me to it! I paid in the upper $2000's for my floyded Studio, but I would imagine it's worth half that? - Austin
  4. Even if this was pre-arranged, Prince has done enough crap over the years to prove that his assholity is at the same level as his musical genius. And just slightly below the level of his ego. - Austin
  5. ...and his music blows, and it always has. What's that saying about opinions? - Austin
  6. Well, now wait a second, wasn't he pretty well known as a dickhead even before he was known as TAFKAP? - Austin
  7. Songs for Insanity by John 5. However, I have a far greater number of hits than I do misses when it comes to such purchasing. - Austin
  8. So who's left? Is this down to Mitch and I? So far I haven't even really been tempted. - Austin
  9. I doubt I'll be able to last all year; my thing is more about trying to be a bit less of a guitar slut and have higher standards; not just buying something because it catches my eye. So far so good, but I already have a mental list of a handful of guitars that I'll have no problem throwing in the towel for if they show up at the right price point. - Austin
  10. When Aztec gold = orange back in the day, it was awesome. Now that it's more of a pee yellow, I don't dig it so much (especially over Korina!). That said, I've had a couple Studio Customs in AG and it wasn't something that bothered me too much. - Austin
  11. Happy Birthday Greg! - Austin
  12. Dude - seriously? So if that was yours and you let it get away, you should be banned from the forum - blasphemous! No, it was never mine. It was on eBay years ago. I didn't go after it because i was leery of the switch placement and the nasty gold hardware. Don't remember exactly what it went for, but I remember feeling it was peanuts relatively-speaking, so it definitely could have been mine. Still, if I bought it I would have sold it eventually anyway, so I guess I just skipped to the end - Austin
  13. The one that got away...
  14. I was a late bloomer. A 2001 (I believe) Vanguard HB was my first, followed by a Mirage I, the Open House Special, and the McGruff Diablo. I lose track after that - Austin
  15. Not a very uplifting assumption about girls, rugby... Read it again. - Austin
  16. Signed! But what do I win when I outlast all you losers? - Austin
  17. Like every Les Paul made after 1961? - Austin
  18. Clearly you haven't priced out any of the guitars Jol's making now! - Austin
  19. If any of my local dealers carried their products or had turned me onto them, I wouldn't have had to google Myka and Schroeder to figure out who/what they were. Both sound like one man operations, so not comparable to Hamer. Hamer was producing a guitar a month, they are doing at least doubt that. You're not comparing apples with apples here. And clearly you don't know as much as you think you do. http://www.destroyallguitars.com/myka Anyway, back to the teeth-gnashing, hair-pulling, etc... - Austin
  20. Both those brands also know marketing and of course it's like beating a dead horse, but Hamer IMO shot itself in the foot many times over in that regard. I'd say that's somewhat simplistic. Comparing MM, Suhr and Hamer is like comparing apples, ocean liners, and spoons. So many differences between those brands and Hamer, it's not even worth getting into. - Austin
  21. Not surprising, but still a bummer. As a fan of the brand, I think that it is unfortunate that "Hamer" is now going to mean cheap imports (that now mirror the USA guitars closer than ever). But then, as a cult brand, I suppose that might be what they meant to most people out there anyway. Bummer. - Austin
  22. I'm a fairly casual Prince fan (like all the hits have a couple albums). I'd say he's greatly underrated. Most people that like him in a casual way have no idea what a monster all-around musician he is in terms of his own music, let alone how many hits he's made for other people. - Austin
