  1. Spinning BOC's Some Enchanted Evening tonight. This is the reissue, which extends the original to a more proper two discs. What a great time for BOC - killer set.
  2. Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs. On 180 gram vinyl. Delicious.
  3. Queen - Live at the Rainbow, 1974. On vinyl. Hell. Yes.
  4. I saw them on the Monsters of Rock Tour in 1988. They were awesome and Jabs was smoking that day. I was also surprised at how many of the leads that Rudolph was doing. I didn't know squat about the 70s Scorps until much later - somebody mentioned Uli Roth in an interview and it took off from there. For me, Uli-Era and Jabs-Era Scorpions are two different bands.
  5. Thanks for the download. On a related note, Uli is releasing a new album this Spring with classic Scorps tunes: http://www.guitarworld.com/uli-jon-roth-revisits-his-scoprions-days-new-album
  6. For the record, Rob Lamothe was the vocalist in Riverdogs - not Lou Gramm. Gramm and Viv were in Shadow King.
  7. That was great - it's good to hear some good old fashioned hard rock. BTW, anyone else notice that Claude Schnell looks like the host of "Tales from the Crypt" (the Cryptkeeper)?
  8. Lemmy = Cred.
  9. I've never understood the appeal of the Foo Fighters. I'm probably a dinosaur/old guy who's bitching at kids to get off my lawn, but when I think of "rock", the Foo Fighters don't come to mind. To me, they sounds like a loud Mentos commercial. I agree the Foos can write a catchy pop tune, but to me they seem like they're always trying too hard to show everyone they're a rock band.
  10. Greg - what pickup is in the BCR Jr?
  11. Email/PM sent, but received an error message. Please email me at: jj884 at hotmail dot com
  12. The live side of "Fandango!" is one the finest examples of rock guitar tone - ever.
  13. So, what did he do to get Buddy going?
  14. I thought he was incredible in the Black Crowes CD/gigs back in 2000. I always thought he was just sloppy enough to be cool.
  15. Greg, Any recommendations for a cab for the V Plex? I was thinking of a 2x12 with 1 Greenback and a Vintage 30....
  16. I did the opposite and picked this up last night: Voodoo V Plex Now, I need a killer 2x12 cab to go with it. If anyone has one for sale, let me know. I think that this amp along with the BCR Jr will finally get me to "the tone".
  17. Here's Gary Moore giving a Master's Class on rock guitar: Moore's Red House 2004 After watching this, I might take up the bass....................
  18. I wonder if my USA P90 Special will do the trick..............
  19. SirDaniel - yep, I said that. However, due to a steady diet of Bon Scott-era AC/DC and Thin Lizzy, I decided to have another Marshall in the stable. Plus, for $700, it was a great deal.
  20. Check out the deal I just got: Marshall 2150 Combo They say that these were one of the few with PPIV Master Volumes - the reviews are good, so I'm ready to run it through the paces. Will I have to replace the speaker if I use it as stand-alone amp? Will the 100 watts blow the V30?
  21. I've never heard one of these - the reviews are great, but I'd like to hear from some of you former/current owners and HFC jam vets. While you guys compile your VAC praise, I'll be busy attempting (and failing) to convince myself that I don't need another amp..........
  22. Thanks Ernie! All I need now is a schoolboy uniform and a JTM 45...........
