So, I'm running through the Denver Craig's List and I see this Peavey amp for $50. Mint condition. So, I pick-up what I thought would be a light, little amp that I could throw in the car and take to band practice. A crappy Peavey Bandit 75. Solid State. 2 channels, 12" Peavey Scorpion speaker. Weighs only about 25lbs. I figured for $50. how can you go wrong (It's actually in dead mint condition too) I thought what the hell, it sounded pretty good at the dudes house.
So, I take it to band practice, plug in my 100x more expensive Huber Redwood and everyone's jaws dropped. The crazy little thing sounded freakin' awesome. Nobody could believe it sounded this good, even me. The clean channel is killer. I did some research on Harmony Central and every review raved about the clean channel and its amazing reverb. Bingo, they were right on. The Overdrive channel sounded pretty good too. It has their TransTube analog circuitry which actually sounds OK. But, in a mix, the thing just fit in and kicked butt.
Just goes to show you, never diss something till you try it. My little find of the year.
