I've been there. Chis's show was amazing. Adding Alice Cooper oddities it must really be intense! I saw AC at the beginning of the Billion Dollar Babies Tour. Best concert I have ever attended. Huge Spiders coming down and tapping people out of the rafters. You cou hear the screams. All the while a incredible stage show going on. Just a fun spectacle!!!

I built my own and tweeked a few things to get rid of the flabby low end that they have. Put an old alnico Blue in it and there was much love. One thing I found it the V1 tube really makes a difference. I found some CBS 12AY7 equivalents that where made for computers and the motion picture industry. They really made the sun shine with that amp. I'd like to find more of those! They are super clean if you don't turn the volume past 3. Any more and they don't get much louder, but the dirt starts all the way to it's gonna blow!!

With something this simple modifications are almost required!!!

Just Drill a 1/4" hole in a piece of scrap wood. For mic cables drill 3 1/8" holes in the right spots. Works great

The natural finish forces them to select the best pieces. Can't cover up minor flaws with paint.

As long as there a real tubes to get real tube sounds I'll keep using those. Some of the newer tubes have gained ground towards what the engineers of the 40's 50's and 60's already new. They just wanted to build good tubes back then. They didn't know that they where creating incredible mojo at the same time!

I once used tightbond ll and floor sanding dust to fill very large gaps in a wood floor. Gallon jug glue glue glue mix in the floor sanding dust as it was the same color. Took some straps and stomped them into it a after the hole was filled . It got hard as a rock. Hit with the floor sander and you'll never know there was a 2" gap there. I think the big thing with 2 And 3 is the water resistance. But I still use 2 for wood to wood repairs.

You're going to love it! I sold my Vintage P Bass after I got my 2 Tec. Pretty much equal weight. The Cruise with EMG's just sounds so much better!

When I hear "plays like Butter" I interpret that to be very low action fast and easy to play. I've also heard "smooth as Butter" same meaning. As does "tuned by Angel's" which has nothing to do with Butter. But means the same as the butter statements. Then there's the gotta fight it a little. Which has nothing to do with fighting! So expressions about how a guitar plays really are not very good, but for some reason all guitar players understand them. So that brings to question "do guitar players have their own language" I dare say "Yes...Yes they do! So Crank It and Melt some faces!!!

I've tried to reach inside the barrel Jack's and pull the contacts out a bit. Worked for a while but the plugs just fall out again. I have some barrel Jack's in my parts bin, but they're not the same. Anyone know who made those blankety blank barrel jacks??

If your tube socket is broken away from the PC board there may be other issues like broken tracings. Much harder to repair. A socket installed into the chassis is far superior and much easier to replace. If it's PC mounted and the tracings aren't damaged, just get some wicket and remove the existing solder. (After you've drained the amp and tested with a DMM that you actually did drain the amp) then carefully lift the socket while hitting the inserts with a soldering iron as to not tear away the tabs. Slowly!! And carefully! Clean the area with alchohol and inspect with magnification to insure the PC is intact. Then reinsert the new one and solder.
