How to tell a real Gibson from a fake
Dutchman replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Just ask Trogly!!! Even he's been burned. Flip McKnight is branding them now! Burns a big fake right into the guitar. As far as my looking, the castle nut on the truss rod and the wiring are where I start. I only have 2 Gibby's now. A 50's+ lester, and a CS339. Don't plan on getting more... -
I was going to post a pic of my Suhr Alt Tele. It was a no go also!

Rainsong guitars - any experience?
Dutchman replied to hamerhead's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I've played a carbon top with a walnut neck Adamas since 1985. I compared it to every high Dollar spruce top made and it's held it's own and blown many away. Hand made right alongside Hamers in New Hartford by 1 master luthier. It's a cannon with an incredible neck. If I where to buy a new acoustic guitar it would be a McPherson tho. I dang near did buy one from WestWood music in LA a couple years ago. Fantastic guitars!!!! -
I'm stumped, what would these resistor values be?
Dutchman replied to Dutchman's question in Ask the HFC Experts
Thanks! I wondered if I took the voltage of the white and orange then I would know what voltage the supply would be. Then replace all the current leds so I have a known value. Then calculate the voltage required using the formula you provided! -
I got info from Peavey to build a footswitch for the Peavey Ranger I hauled outa the garbage in nonworking condition. All tube 120 watts. It sounds fantastic. I decided to build a pedal board for it as Peavey said they had a schematic. My question is what are the values of the resistors in the circled box? The White and Orange appear to be the supply for the LED's. Standard drop 150 ohm? I asked Peavey no response so far.

It's almost frightening buying a high end guitar these day's. Everything has been copied. I recently bought a Novo Mira J, after gathering the info from the buyer I checked everything out. Retail store with buyers name associated to the serial number and Novo's association with the retail store per S/N ID. I have seen novo fakes that from pictures are pretty realistic as well as Les Pauls and 339's. They're dang good a copying stuff!!! That goes for pedals and such too. If people put as much work into being honest vs crooked it sure would be a safer more pleasant world. I don't remember anything like this happening when I was a younger man. You bought a guitar and it was the real deal. I sure wish I had a couple of those back!!!

That was penned by Steve Goodwin and John Prine. David just made it more "Perfect"

Gone to a place where a nickel still plays the jukebox. Another bought you a glass of warm beer. He was odd but incredibly original. Did tours consisting of nothing more than prisons and small bars. All with beat up Peavey PA equipment. Truly the wandering minstrel that drank to much, smoked to much and you never had to wonder what he was thinking. An American Original! RIP Mr. Coe

That is an ass pounding tour! I've been on a couple of those. After a month you don't even know what town you're in... I hope they have healthy hobbys.... and nobody...nobody shits on the bus...ever....rule #1!!! -

I found a Peavey Ranger 212 in the curbside garbage. Non working of course! So I fixed it and it's actually a great amp! 120 watts of all tube goodness. The footswitch did not come with it. Turns out they are very hard to find! It's a 4 button model and will work on the Duel or the Ranger model. Every one that enquires wants the footswitch. If you have one or know of someone who might I'm calling with my hat in my hand. Either that or I'll have to build one. I greatly dislike building footswitches with out a schematic. No has one of those either

The Reason Why Older Records Sound Better
Dutchman replied to Dave Scepter's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I really enjoyed that. From some one who's been there. Reinforced my recording beliefs. I didn't auto tune/time align anything. Eq and add some effects. I had a sign that said "Shit in =Shit out, Go Home and Practice" The other guy across town would autotune, time align, a bunch of other gizmo's. He stayed really busy. I shuttered my doors and went fishing!!! -

As someone who practically lived in bars I heard this song and thought...Damn! That's gonna get a lot of cowboy's and cowgirls laid!! Made me feel frisky at 70 some years old. Head down to the old waterin' hole and hold em' close so I don't get a smelly one!!!

Update! "To quickly resolve this issue we would like to send these funds to your Wallet to be able to use right away on Reverb." I got the money back in my Wallet. All of it. I wasn't going to test to see how long it would take to be credited back to my bank account! I gave the seller 1 star. I give Reverb 0 stars! They need a Mr Obvious!
