I've been thinning too! No guitars yet but a bunch of amps. A studio here in FL came over to check out my 68 Super Bassman. The rare one they only built for a couple months. They left with that amp, a 64' Bandmaster, a 63 6G6B Bassman, and a 65 AA864 Blackface Bassman. All amps from my studio. I still have 8 amps left. I really don't want to sell those yet!

I checked the pups in my son's SG which I really like the sound of and they are custom buckers. It's a long Tenon model but I don't know what year it is. The pups are original to the guitar. I keep trying to trade it away from him, but he knows he's got a great player!!

RIP Jay, you will be missed!

I have a peak esr tester. It doesn't work on small caps. It's excellent on electrolytic, which I think is what it was meant for. I also have a BK precision 810C. I really like that one it measures the tiniest caps other just float open on. So Unless you need the ESR read out the BK 810 C is a nice older unit!

I am not a fan of the 57's. I have a set in a CS ES339. Same kinda deal, muddy, no expresivness. Just gets muddled together and lost. Tell Josh what your looking for and he'll deliver. Has several times for me. I don't know how much time he has for winding between running the Bar/dancehall and being on the road gigging. But give him a shout.

Rainsong guitars - any experience?
Dutchman replied to hamerhead's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
When I was on the hunt the thing that struck me about the McPhersons was the Feel of the Neck. I've been playing an Adamas for over 25 years so I'm spoiled. I'm still playing That one off Adamas after purchasing a beautiful sounding Santa Cruz. I got hand cramps playing the Vee neck on the SC. So back to the Adamas. Then I broke my shoulder(in Feb) So I bought a 3 holer DuoTone and run it thru a IR box using a Martin IR. It's sounds great and it's skinny so my shoulder isn't screaming at me. If you dip out the eq around 1600hz the piezo quack becomes manageable. -
I would have to say it was more Yacht Rock than metal. It was mainly 40-50 year Olds. They wanted their generations music. So that's what we played. I Scorpions may have been ok tho. We did some Skid Row and that went over well....

PSA: 1995 Duotone fs in Canada
Dutchman replied to spanky's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
I love my 3 hole Duo! I run it thru a pedal that has a Martin D 45 IR. Sounds as good as my son's Martin thru the FOH. Somebody buy this!! -
I needed a powerful quiet small stage fan for an outdoor gig. Looked around and my son had a fan he'd been using in his bedroom to help him sleep. Very powerful really quiet! So I order the non pedestal version from Amazon. Not cheap, but it is well built. It worked fantastic. It creates a tunnel of moving air. It saved the day for me in this Florida heat and humidity. So for those that are tired of fan noise on stage this actually works. Obviously louder as speed was increased, I found the 2nd speed to be ample and that is barely audible. No leakage into amps or out board like other fans. I got the Large. https://www.amazon.com/Vornado-CR1-0121-06-Large-Whole-Circulator/dp/B0025QKUE8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_pp?crid=1SF2ZDUAAKSTF&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._aRVTH3koOUdoLOFoUsb-6Yg2Te4WqxtbbzjMlNUlIXaz1bvd4mLpmthG-ybY63EkjnOtQInCsQ3cEszLSeoMTipRSYz9e6lG6FqIlEWyeiiZrqm4DrXg6xnyOfghdmxCtUDDvrH6UlAF3Dr9ZFAhA9_Xwig5kRdG1hCLtDLfinNv-ZVsikk-7STDoiqaCMsQLxwwiweFm_1xT-GZ3c96Q.SKuivhW4VZEfu141FqglTOAfkVEDZy2hkcPnlkBB-lE&dib_tag=se&keywords=vornado+660&qid=1783893816&sprefix=vornado+660%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.9fe8cbfa-bf43-43d1-a707-3f4e65a4b666

Another Vote for the Mojotone Hot P90 in the Quiet coil series. They got it all and you don't have to stand pointing in a certain direction to keep the noise down. I tried the Lindy no noise...mojotones sounded better!

Shipping tales - URGENT UPDATE!!!
Dutchman replied to santellavision's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Rent a small trailer and load all your music equipment in it! You can pull a little uhaul with a car! My 7 cents worth... -
I received this a while back, put it on my board to see what material I could use it on. Turns out that it sounds really good with Singles and Hums and can be used in most Rock Genre songs. It can do Gillmore. But it can do much more by twisting some knobs. I stacked it with an old Barber Silver LTD(original) and it really got it's juices flowing! Great Pedal!! Highly Recommend!! I was using one of my handmade 64' DenHer Deluxes for test amp.

Amp/effect modeling rigs - live or memorex?
Dutchman replied to mrjamiam's question in Ask the HFC Experts
I've been using an OX Box for several years. Recording experience has been limited, but for direct to FOH and back to monitors it's been great! There's a Lotta stuff in that little box!! For acoustic I've been using the NUX Optima Air pedal. Work and sounds very well! -
Does anyone remember April Wine?
Dutchman replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Being from the Dakota's and April Wine from Canada there was lot's of opportunity to see them in bars ballrooms etc. Same with Rush. Doing it Right was on the setlist continuously in every band I played in. As was Working Man from Rush. Many great acts from our northern neighbors. -

How to tell a real Gibson from a fake
Dutchman replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Just ask Trogly!!! Even he's been burned. Flip McKnight is branding them now! Burns a big fake right into the guitar. As far as my looking, the castle nut on the truss rod and the wiring are where I start. I only have 2 Gibby's now. A 50's+ lester, and a CS339. Don't plan on getting more... -
I was going to post a pic of my Suhr Alt Tele. It was a no go also!
