  1. I ike Joe. Saw him just a couple nights before America was locked down. As somebody here pointed out, he selected the guitar to match the song, ie, a Strat for Strat-ty song, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed the show from mega-company seats my brother scored but i would pay $ to see him again. if you haven’t seen him on the Doug and Pat Show podcasts, you should.
  2. In the summer of 1972, I was working at an Opel dealership in West Berlin as a car washer. We listened to Armed Forces Radio. When those introductory power chords blasted out, I thought it was The Who, but then it transitioned to the syrupy stuff. When they announced it later as The Raspberries, I thought the boys from the east side finally made it. They were a great band.
  3. Thanks Dave. i contacted him today. He has serviced several of these and has owned one. I boxed it up this afternoon and will ship this week. Sorry that he hassled you. t
  4. well, so be it. the ol’ GA-6 hasn’t been serviced since 2001 when i bought it. Uncle Doug had a video on one he serviced. Since I’m not a FB user and he doesn’t do email, this won’t work. Thanks to all of you.
  5. Anyone have experience with him? I’m not a Facebook user. I don’t know how to reach him. Anybody have his email address? thanks
  6. Does he employ someone to dust his collection? seriously.
  7. i’d be checking for past stock splits, too
  8. IIRC several years ago i read a GP article about Paul’s Hofner bass getting its own seat cross-Atlantic en route to a the US for a tuneup. Supposedly had a play list taped to the upper bout. Anybody remember that? would that have been number 2? I’m glad it’s back but. shame on those people. Not a decent one in the lot?
  9. that’s photo 10 photos 11 and 12 seem a bit suspicious
  10. uh, maybe… it’s also an interesting story about the “PRS factory in a (Cort) factory”, QC etc.
  11. I think they’ve been out about a year now. Does anybody here have one and, if so, for how long? Does it live up to the hype that accompanied the launch?
  12. Sorry, but do you need a power cord with thre-prong plugs at each end?
  13. What is a “convenience outlet?”. can’t say i’ve seen that before now . thanks
  14. did it come standard with a piezo? i remember talking to a seller about it. shorter-scale? he practically talked me out of it.
  15. Can someone tell me about the pickup? Judging by the gap, is it a humbucker and a single coil side by side? What’s the theory behind the design? Any other color you can provide would be appreciated. thanks
  16. Didn’t they once cover a Joni Mitchell song? My memory is fading.
  17. Do they live up to the hype? The Les Paul Juniors seem to be well loved.
  18. That’s a greaT resource. Thank you. I recall a Seafoam green model ( but I could be wrong) with lipstick pickups (2 or 3) and a Bigsby. Very cool for any time period.
  19. Never jumped on a Talman when they came out. Always loved the design. Once a year I check them out on Reverb.
  20. Al DiMeola is playing at Kent StahevTheatre in Kent Ohio on November 8. Tickets are $50-$65 and the meet and greet is $100, which also gets you the sound check. This is much less than the show you quoted. BTW i saw Paul McCartney for $4.50 and John, George and Ringo also shared the stage. And no fee either. call me Boomer, I don’t care
  21. Sorry. Will ship only to a US address. Local pickup in northeast Ohio would be okay. Too much risk of damage. I hold my breath even when I ship to Wisconsin or Chicago or Texas. This guitar is too nice to toy with shipping issues. Also I don't want the hassle of customs, etc.
