    Hi Jay,

    I'm looking to buy a Gibson Les Paul Custom in the next few months and I know that you have a lot of knowledge and experience with them. Are there any years in particular that I should be looking for? Chances are very likely that I will have the guitar refinished in some kind of metal flake, so used is definitely fine.

    Any input that you could provide is greatly appreciated.

    sw688blue At the time, I had purchased my first handgun, a Smith & Wesson 686. The 686 is finished in stainless steel and since I wasn't too crazy about appending "ss" to the end of sw686, I decided to add my favorite color - blue! Hence, sw686blue.

    Then it's your prerogative to think he's a swell guy. Did he turn around and build your custom order for someone else six months later? Here's a fact, not a theory: Jol's OUT at Hamer. And the way he went out leads any reasonable person to conclude that it wasn't amicable or on his terms. Which in turn leads any reasonable person to believe his schtick had worn thin with FMIC. This is all an assumption on your part other than the point that he's no longer at Hamer.
