Great work! IIRC, I added to the journey by way of that silver Studio. Still do have the one off silver Duo-Tone (and no desire to let that one go).

That looks fantastic.    Did you do anything to get the top to pop like that during the initial yellow/gold coat?

Thanks! Yes you did. Thanks again. Funny I owned that one twice now.  Biggest neck I’ve seen on a Hamer.  Would bond with it well now. It was bit heavy though.

I put a couple coats of the EM1000 sealer on first.  It’s supposed to pop the grain well.  Then a couple coats of the em6000 with transtint lemon yellow as toner coats.
it didn’t hide the bleed out I had on the top from the CA glue when putting the binding on.  If it was solvent based I bet it would have.   That also further solidified sticking with burst.

Awesome work, bro!

When I saw the first pic, I thought, "Oh no, he routed out my old Junior and put a humbucker in it. "

I still miss that guitar......

Wouldn't that be horrific? I usually believe in doing what one wants to their own guitar, but to mess with such a specifically unique guitar like that would be unforgivable.

Finally got to plug this bad boy in.  Damn the pickup @JGravelin made is awesome.  Harmonics are leaping from the board.
Josh did his Charlotte wind on a Hamer  style brass frame and correct spacing for the sustainblock and  to quote Josh when I asked about having the Charlotte done this way

I've never actually done one like it, tested, and heard from myself. Will sound killer? YES!! I have no doubt. Like some strange DiMarz/Hamer pickup bastard child!!”

Damn was he right and in a great way. My buddy tried it out also we just sat there ripping riff after riff all night tonight grinning.  I’d call it a Charlotte+ Unless Josh has a better name. It  Is like everything from the other charlottes I have but a tad more fidelity/ harmonic richness  I think my next 2 builds are going to need this pickup.
when it was coil split it was amazing also.
okay enough hyperbole for one night, but we really enjoy this pickup.
