In my not so humble opinion. If you are going digital and bringing a pedalboard you might as well go with a UA Pedal on your board and carry a 1x12 or 1x10 as a monitor. Investing in an amp that more than likely isn’t very serviceable and you will probably get just as board with as any other amp down the road doesn’t make sense.

Tube were dirt cheap before, now its gonna cost you $100-$125 to retube an old amp.

Tube amps if serviced are consistent, now electricity venue to venue is not.

Tube Amp, hand wired, great quality can be repaired no problem.

I now have way more Amps than I have guitars.

Get a Dr Z Cure and thank me later. Deluxe/Princeton power with full EQ, MV and Level Control. So any amount of clean to dirty at any level.

Made in America, with alost all the parts from American company’s. If it breaks, you call them up, send it in and they fix it.

End your amp search

You buy and like the Dr Z Cure and I’ll buy you a Neo Speaker. With the standard speaker is 33 LBS, so you should hit about 28 lbs with a Neo.  Cathode Bias so moderate variations in wall voltage will yield barely audial differences.

Most come with 6v6’s, the last variation had 5881’s.

We all have been through a bunch of gear, but I have to say that Fender just rubs me the wrong way specially with amplifiers. They could still be putting out boutique amps that rival the old amps, along with advancing technology but its all about maximizing profits.

Make an investment in products from company’s that still listen and want your business. I fully support Dr Z, his amps, and his community (minus the Facebook). We all came here for a reason, the community, the guitars, a company that would interact with the community. Hamer used to be the Working Man Boutique and I feel that  Dr Z is just that. I have 7 of his amps and I have only purchased 1 new. He still treats me like I bought 10 from him. What more could you want?

New products coming down the pipe are being shown at this years Mni Z Fest the first weekend of August.

I only have 1.  A Z28 MKII. Really like it and blame it all on you. Thanks.

Shawn, I love your passion for these things! And I should really hate Fender for what they did to Hamer.

But I've had the same '64 Vibrolux since I started playing (53 years) and it is still what I judge all other amps by. Maybe that's why boutique amps never really did anything for me - I've owned a 'grail' almost since day 1 and gigged it regularly. There's also a '63 Pro Amp and a '67 Princeton here as well. But now none of them leave the house because it would suck if anything happened to them.

Which is kinda the point of wanting the DRTM - a light, simple, toss-it-in-the-truck-and-go-with-no-worries amp that I won't lose sleep over if it gets stolen, bumped, bruised or even blowed up. The weight is the #1 factor as my back is AFU, and being that close to 'the sound' really seals it.

While I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Z amps for years (and would gladly take one if they were handing them out), it's just not something that would fill this particular need.

South Florida CL, $800. Probably on the pricey side to ship though, and seller won't.

Thanks for all the head's-ups!! I've been keeping my eye on Dave's, GC, Sweetwater, Reverb, etc but really hoping one turns up locally. I've put at least 3 in a cart only to have them disappear. No real hurry. The right one will show up.
