kizanski Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 Thoughts about the pedal or about you being a huge boss fan? 11 Quote

1 bottlerocket Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 Looks pretty cool in concept. I have a originals of nearly all these, but I find for the Spectrum to sound decent it needs to be run in tandem with another pedal to sound decent, and it is very limited in application. I think that pedal is more of a collector's item than something wildly usable. 2 Quote

Eli Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 So, It's probably the same software that's in the GT series multi FX pedals. But this way, you don't get as many pedals/options, and they get to charge you an undisclosed amount of cash for any extra pedal models that they release for it next year. It's cool that it's in the boss pedal format, but... seems like a way to pry more money out of guitarists without really offering much. There's a few alternatives in this one pedal/many virtual pedals inside design concept: Zoom & Line 6 come to mind. Handy if you need an all rounder on your pedal board, but otherwise it seems pretty limited. 3 Quote

I think it would be cool to have option where you can download a new pedal and try it for a "built-in timeout of 1 hour" then if you like, it buy it... for say $49.00 per download? 1 Quote
velorush Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 TC Electronic has this: Be a simple step for Boss to do likewise now. 1 Quote

I included it below. Personally, I think that this pedal is not worth it at all. If you like BOSS pedals, why not just buy the analog versions of the ones that you like (not including digital delay, obviously). This thing only does one pedal at once anyway. 4 Quote

For me, it would be a TINY footprint for my practice room, I don't use multiple effects at once anyways... if I wait a while, I'd be able to pick these up for relatively cheap, then depending on the price, "I'm guessing would be a lot cheaper since you're not buying the actual hardware" you can download, mix-match whatever effects you want to load... Boss has a billion pedals to play with... they have over a dozen distortion pedals alone I could try out Just playing The Devil's Advocate Edited August 28, 2025 by Dave Scepter 2 Quote

It could cover a lot of the basics. Especially if you pick it up used. I love the Roland/Boss stuff, but the prices are always a tad on the high side at MAP. 1 Quote

Dave Scepter Posted August 29, 2025 Author Posted August 29, 2025 (edited) At this point, I'm sure 95% of us have all the pedals we need... but I still like to play with new stuff 🤣 Edited August 29, 2025 by Dave Scepter 2 Quote
holLoWskull Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 If you love Boss effects then sure, why not buy it? For that money though I would check out the Line6 HX One while it’s currently on sale. The company has been great about offering FREE updates to their Helix/HX products over the years, and you get a lot of routing flexibility (plus a good built in tuner/effects/looper). Boss, TC Electronic (Plethora X1), Zoom (new MultiStomp + line), and Line 6 (HX One) are all churning out some feature packed gear in a small pedal footprint. 2 Quote
HamerCustomEr Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Although personally, I am not into digital effects, the TC Plethora X1 seems like much better value for the money than the Boss. Only $150 vs $250, it comes with 14 effects, and you can use any TonePrints that you like. 2 Quote
