BruceM Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 (edited) About 2 years ago I acquired a Badger Dave custom baritone tele. It took me awhile to warm up to it, but I'm now playing it more than any other guitar. I'm going to shop around for a complimentary baritone guitar, and I'm curious if anyone has anything. I'm most likely looking for something other than tele style, which is what I currently own, and either Gretsch style pickups or P-90s. I'd like to have a tremolo as well. A Hamer would be amazing, but I know there aren't too many out there. I've been looking around a bit, and I like the Duesenberg Julietta, but it's also a bit pricey. Oh, and did I mention light weight? I'm old too. My other option would be to sell a few guitars and custom order a Grez. Thoughts? Edited December 19, 2025 by BruceM Quote
hamerhead Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 I gotta throw this out there - these are stupid cheap and highly rated: https://guitarsgarden.com/collections/baritone-guitars?srsltid=AfmBOor3pNtXJqMYl3wSo6dDwBKIQ9y0ggNuWToxonBk5J9tQ-JkyYE3 3 Quote
geoff_hartwell Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 This may be way too left field, but any interest in a Trans Scale Steinberger? It def has the trem and the light weight. It’s also got Joe Satriani’s autograph on it. Which will either be a benefit, or not lol, you can certainly buff it off easily. Lmk if I can help. GLw/Search 2 Quote

shankyboy Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 I know you're not looking for another Tele style Bari but check out the Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider Baritone Tele. It has a Tremolo bridge. Pete demoed his first one at a clinic he was doing at a friend's house a few years ago and it was really cool. 1 Quote

I bought a Wattplower bass a few ago and it's one of my main players because it's short-scale, lightweight and plays like a dream. I'm sure if I had a chance to play another Reverend I'd like it. I'll have to see if I can track one down for a test drive, but I'm also really happy with the Tele style guitar I've got. badger Dave does great work! 1 Quote
DaveL Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 Highly recommend the PRS SE Baritones. You might be able to find some used at guitarcenter.com Btw. I once had an ovation elite USA baritone that I found mint at my local store. Hella fun to play. I stupidly sold it. Quote

ebradfordrich Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Should you want to take it in a completely different direction, I have a Tacoma BM6C baritone acoustic that I may want to rehome eventually. The body is big, same as their winged series CB10 acoustic basses. 1 Quote
cmatthes Posted January 6 Posted January 6 You’re looking for a Baritone (B to b), not a Fender Bass VI, correct? I was going to suggest the Fender Vintera II Bass VI as an option, as those are really nice and I’ve seen them at some good prices recently… 3 Quote
BruceM Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Thanks for the suggestions, guys. For now, I'm searching for a Baritone electric. I've seen many of the other suggestions during my search. 1 Quote
