Lockbody Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I'm regretting not buying the $250 MIM Precision a few weeks back.Anybody got something along those lines they'd let go for cheap and can PayPal?
serial Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Not that cheap, but I'm thinking about moving my bound top Chap Bass with ebony board and OBLs. Rare one and sounds and plays great-I'm just not playing bass anymore and have too many around.
BCR Greg Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I have new Washburn and Slammer basses in that price range with warranties(lifetime on the Washburns!)
Brooks Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 my trombonist has a 3/4 size slammer & a full size ibanez he'd let go for super cheap, PM me if int.
guitfiddler Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I have a Dillion Geddy Lee replica jazz bass, made in Korea. Still in mint cond., excellent set-up and playability, vintage-sounding electronics... no need to upgrade anything. Black, white pickguard, maple neck with black block markers. I like it a lot, but can't justify 4 basses. 299. + 80. SKB case + 35. shipping conus (415. total) Might exceed your budget though...By the same token, the F'dr Geddy Lee runs 700.00 guitfiddler1953@hotmail.com
killerteddybear Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Wait for the next cheapo MIM P-Bass.There's one for sale in your price range in my back yard (Chula Vista California). Do a search on this text string in the San Diego Craigslist"Mexican made Fender Precision bass".It's been posted on and off for a couple months so he may be willing to deal.
elduave Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I've got 2 Hamer Velocity 2's (displays, one black, one red) that you can have at cost , a Daisy Rock Stardust Retro H in blue, same deal, and the Slammer short scales starting at $149. Paypal's cool.Steve, that's a cool-ass bass.Edited to add the Fernandes Atlas is a really nice bass for cheap too...
Jimbilly Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 You should be able to find a MIM Fender jazz or P for $200. For cool basses at super low $$, check around for Fender Japan models. Also, make sure you're happy with just a P pickup (I'm not), a bridge pup really adds a lot to my ears.
Lockbody Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 Serial,That is one seriously cool bass, I just bet I wouldn't get along with the bound top.Greggles,I'm not up on the Slammer basses, any "P's"? What's the quality like?Brooks, PM sentGuitfiddler,A little to rich for me just to plink on every now and then, but thanks.KTB & Jimbilly,I wouldn't mind getting a MIM P Bass. I have a headless Cort Stienberger copy with a "P/J" setup and never use the "J". Too funky for me. I'm gonna email KTB's suggestion and see.elduave,Like the Slammers, I'm not up on the cheaper Hamer stuff. Email or PM me wit' da details of those Vel2's when you get a chance. Thanks for the suggestions and the offers, folks. Due to a big data project we have going on for a hospital right now, I'm slow to respond, but keep 'em coming.
