DavidE Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Is it really that different from the Korina Jr I aleady have? If so' how?I'm trying to decide whether to give up the best studio custom P90 goldtop (mint 2003) that is also lightweight plus cash for the Jr.

If so' how?I'm trying to decide whether to give up the best studio custom P90 goldtop (mint 2003) that is also lightweight plus cash for the Jr.Oh, it's different, alright. If you need to be told, you wouldn't understand.
edgar_allan_poe Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 David, from my experience I would say that the Mahogany Jr, has less upper midrange bite than the Korina but adds a muscular lower midrange that delivers a friggin whollop of a punch. IMHO, they are two different guitars. There may be some overlap of tones, but they are different enough to warrant owning both.Just my 2cents....
MCChris Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I used to own a Korina Special and have played Bruce's mahogany junior. Through the same rig the differences were significant. The Korina was MUCH louder and aggressive. The mahogany mellower, smokier, woodier, yet still biting thanks to that single P90.
gwayne Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 There may be some overlap of tones, but they are different enough to warrant owning both.Just my 2cents....Agreed 100%. I played Cajuboy's BCR Jr and Foodeermon's Korina Jr side by side and they are very different guitars. I would def. own both if I could.

Luke Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Oh, it's different, alright. If you need to be told, you wouldn't understand.Does being condescending make you feel superior?Another for sale here
Guest pirateflynn Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I don't know if you would need both a Korina and a Mahogany Junior. You would probably like one of them better and sell the other. I think Mahogany would be the keeper for me.
Aceldama Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 straightblues, not sure if you might be interested in a '68 Vibrolux Reverb. Would also be semi local if you don't mind a 2 hour drive...
BCR Greg Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Oh, it's different, alright. If you need to be told, you wouldn't understand.Does being condescending make you feel superior?Another for sale hereWhy, YES, it does.David knows my wry sense of humor, and the differences have been covered ad nauseum here. You obviously don't understand, so I will stop here.
Stokesdead Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I think if you are having a bad day you should stay away from online message boards
