guitfiddler Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Well, after 29 years at this company I've sensed it coming over the past 2 years, as the company lost over half of it's business and a rep. from the bank took over an office in our building about a year ago. The 60 year old company manufactures outside rearview mirrors for GM, Chrysler. Ford, Mack, etc., with plants in PA (where I'm at,) TN and Mexico. My last day was Fri. 1/26, and I was informed at 11:00 a.m. that day that my position was eliminated. Our Purchasing Manager and two others got it also, no severance pay was provided to anyone. Clearly the company is going down the tubes, and although I'm in shock (I haven't collected unemployment in over 30 years,) it comes as no big surprise. Any way, I should be able to keep myself afloat for 6 months but some non-essential gear must be sacrificed (some real nice stuff, no junk.)For starters: A KUSTOM 36 COUPE amp (red,) as new with box, manual and still unwrapped foot pedal, incl. Dan Chavers custom-made black cover. I came to love this amp within 15 minutes of dialing it in, but I'm not so attached yet that I can't let it go. Used less than 1 hour total. Asking $500.00 shipped, conus. An ADA ROCKET 10 amp, near mint (1x12 combo with the retro-looking burgundy tolex, wheat grill cloth, real leather handle, Eminence GB12 spkr.) was designed by Curt Emery. 1 12AX7, 1 EL-84, rated 10 watts. Harmony Central actually has some very accurate and correct reviews on this baby. Incl. beige custom cover by Dan Chavers. Tubes are new, amp works perfectly. $385.00 shipped, conus KMD XV100SD amp head, 1987, was top of the line at the time. Made in England. 100 watts of truly earth-shaking power like a Sunn model T, uses 4 6550 power tubes (or KT88's.) I've owned since new, everything works great, never needed anything except new tubes. New 12AX7EH pre-amp tubes. Separate EQ and reverb for each channel, effects loops front & rear, custom cover incl. $375.00 shipped with 4 new JJ KT-88's (installed & biased,) or $475. shipped w/4 n.o.s. GE6550's installed & biased. (a new matched quad of GE's, if you can find them, can bring upwards of $250. ) Strings: Thomastik-Infeld 'Regular Bottom' Power Brights (.011 - .046) for electric guitar, made in Austria.1 sealed box of 12 sets- $28. SOLD 1 partial box of 10 sets- $24. Payment via USPS M.O., PayPal acct. transfer, or .... we can discuss. My PayPal acct. is "Guitfiddler1953@hotmail.com"Contact: (email CraigR1953@msn.com) if interested. Or call 215-257-2665, be sure to leave call-back no. if I'm not there. Not interested in trades just now, please. THANKYOU
blackfbiv Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Dang Craig! That's a cruddy development...I am sure that you will land on your feet tho'!!!Hang in there.Dion
guitfiddler Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Thanks, Dion. By the way, my specialty is Transportation Management / Logistics. Fifteen years ago we were called "Traffic Managers." Today although nothing's really changed, it's goofy terms like "Logistics Analysts," "Logisticians," "Supply Chain Managers" and so forth. So if any of my friends here in the eastern PA area should hear of a company in need of a good Shipping Manager or any of the above synonyms, please let me know! Thanks again.
