BadgerDave Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I went through my stuff Sunday and made some hard choices about what to sell to pay for the incoming '59 Les Paul Special. Here's the deal. discountsounds Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Holy creepin' Jesus - I'm drooling over four or five of those guitars. When are you around this week? Can I make a 'pop-in'?
kizanski Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Carr Mercury. 9.9/10 $1500.00 For thems that don't know Badger: You can't find a better guy to deal with on this board (or any other), and his stuff is always better than described. And for those of you that don't know the Carr Mercury: You will not find a garden variety Mercury in dime-a-dozen Black used for less than $1700. Once you get into thier colors, you can add another $200 easy. Two tone? Fughetabowdit! This would be the first one that I have seen for sale used. I think Carr adds another $500 for the two tone option. It's insane, but that's the price they command. I'm not even going to go into how cheezed I am at Badger for waiting until I bought one to sell his. And for $200 less than I paid for mine! If you even want to TRY one of these amps, time's a-wastin'.
cmatthes Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 + 1,000 for Badger being easy to deal with. If I had a spare $1k right now, that SFG JM wouldn't be hanging there above my head. No chit.
BadgerDave Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 The prices on the Mercury and '60 Strat Relic are good until 9:00 PM C.S.T. tonight, Monday 7-23. After that, the ebay actions launch and I'll cut an HFCer a deal on shipping, but I won't end an auction early. PMs work best Thanks for the kind words and recomendations, they are appreciated. DiscountSounds, I'll get back to you soon. This week is an absolute bear, but I should be able to get home at a reasonable hour Wednesday or Thursday night.
BCR Greg Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Strip clubs close early on Wednesday and Thursday?
BadgerDave Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 Strip clubs close early on Wednesday and Thursday? No, but I've usually beaten the marketing dweebs into submission by mid-week. Then they go to their Zig Ziglar/Anthony Robbins sales seminars and get all jazzed up again by Monday. Bruce: I'm still holdin' on to "pinky".
BCR Greg Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Bruce: I'm still holdin' on to "pinky". EASY!!!!! This is a family place.
Guest pirateflynn Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I've done some business with Dave, too. A good man.
kizanski Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I will take a Carr Mercury. PM sent. A no-brainer.
BadgerDave Posted July 24, 2007 Author Posted July 24, 2007 The Carr Mercury and Fender '60 Strat are on ebay:Mercury Auction ListingFender CS Relicand the Gibson SG Bass has been spoken for. Thanks!
marcnorth Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 That's a killer deal on that bass. If I didn't already have one I would have jumped on it. I paid the price ($1135) for mine and love it. They are up to $1299 now at MF.
belgian Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I am getting intrigued by that Carr, does the attenuating circuit works like its says on the Carr site, or is it just marketing talk. Is the amp prepared to run on 220 volt ?
BadgerDave Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 I am getting intrigued by that Carr, does the attenuating circuit works like its says on the Carr site, or is it just marketing talk. Is the amp prepared to run on 220 volt ? Hi Conrad. The attenuator works. The Mercury absolutely rocks at the 1/10 watt setting. Not set up for 220, though. You'd have to use a step-down transformer. BTW, the Strat and Mercury are on ebay now. The Fender and Nash Jazzmastersand and the SG Bass will be on ebay as of 9:00 CST tonight. Thanks to all for your interest and the bumps. I will cut HFCers a very attractive deal on shipping, but sorry, no offline sales once the auctions go live.
