cmatthes Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 There's another Goldtop Standard on eBay right now from that '97 run. That's also way cool...Somebody should buy Citrus' P-90 and swing that one too!
collarguy Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I recieved the guitar about a week ago. WoW! It's as nice as the photos. This is one of those guitars that has low action and the bridge is almost bottomed out. Gibson does'nt even make them like that anymore. LOL The gibson mini buckers are going to be replaced with some cream Rio Grande Jazz/Blues Bar P 90's. Thank you Citrus for the smooth transaction and a great guitar!
BTMN Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 If that was Jaxx '96, I have the original P90s out of it in my Dean P90 Z... Best $90 I spent in a while it was....

collarguy Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I'll see how the rio's sound first. If the mini's go up for sale I'll let you know. Thanks
Guest Meshuggah Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 How hot can you wind those mini-buckers?
jwhitcomb3 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I'm the one who sold that one to BadJaxx. I installed the reissue Gibson Minibuckers. Loved that guitar, but knew I was going to law school, so it had to go. I bought it via ebay in 1999 from a shop in the Pacific NW called "Retro Music" or "Replay Music" or something. It had the graphite saddles on it when I got it. It always played great, but the stock P90s were just too hot for me. I love the sound of the Gibson Minibuckers in it, but realize they aren't everyone's cup of tea. I even bought another pair of those pickups to install in the Artist Korina I bought from Brewmaster, but then fell in love with the Rio P90's that were it it. So I've got a pair of gold Gibson Minibuckers just waiting for the right guitar to come along! You can hear a song I recorded with that guitar (with the original P90s) here!Enjoy that guitar...it's a good 'un!-Jonathan
holLoWskull Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 ...and yet another USA Hamer score for Collarguy What's that now, four in less than one year's time? You may have got to the "pre-Fender" Hamer party late in the game pal, but you're certainly making up for lost time
Bloozguy Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I think I got it bad too...‘03 Monaco III, ‘99 Newport Pro, ‘99 Vanguard, ‘97 Mirage II, and ‘95 Eclipse 12-string...all since April!
