Lew Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 This is so so so coolhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1986-HAMER-FIREBIRD-...1QQcmdZViewItem
cmatthes Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 It is a cool guitar. Seller hasn't been able to move it in 6+ years though, and the report from an HFC'er who has actually seen it in person seems to indicate that it is in worse shape than the pics/description let on.Those are still one of my favorite Hamer models.
Special J Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I didn't even know these existed! Way cool.
PastorPaul Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 They ARE both rare and cool, but Chris is right about this one; it's been for sale for a very long time.
kizanski Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 You would think that, after the guitar is listed X amount of times with NO bids, you would consider the idea of lowering your price a touch. At least that's what I thought...three years ago.You have to give this guy credit, though. He's not gonna let the market set the price! LOL!
elduave Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I e-mailed that dude years ago. No reply. I'd trade my Red one for that one.
Hardrockracer Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 This guy had a music store in cologne, germany years ago. He advertised that he had 2500 used and vintage guitars and basses in stock. He only sells thru ebay now, I guess. I went there once. He had all kinds of US made guitars and basses there. Actually cool stuff that you do not see often in germany. But almost all used and "vintage" instruments were overpriced beaters. I did not see one instrument that you could play on the spot without necessary tweaking or even renovation. Prices were non negotiable. If you really want to buy from that guy save up some extra money for a refinish/refurb. Oh, no cases are standard, too. I chose not to buy anything there.HRR

I know a couple of people over here in Germany who can report real bad stories bout this guy. So please stay away! André
peedenmark7 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I almost clicked the link , then saw the UK... this seller must have more into listing it than he's asking. plus his lack of decent pics showing any detail especially the headstocks on every guitar he sells... not to mention his p!ss poor communication skills are enough to steer clear.
PastorPaul Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 The European Ed Roman!!! +1 That made me laugh.
Jem Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 The European Ed Roman!!!Beat me to it Steve. This guy, i can't remember his name for the life of me, has some seriously cool stuff especially from the 80's and 90's BUT, and it's a biggie, it's all well overpriced and most of it's slaughtered. A local kiddie brought a Charvel Mod. 5 or 6 from him and just about every screw was knackered, electics held together with gaffa tape and as for 'player wear', which i think is how he described it, 'fu*ked' would have been a more appropriate adjective, it really looked like someone had thrown it out of a 747 on takeoff.JemPS: At least the stuff i looked at around 'Troll Romans' was in a playable condition.
guitarcasper Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I mailed the guy, I actually got a reply, but I don't trust em.I live in holland and was planning to pass by on my way to a couple of holidays in Germany.Wasn't possible in any way...duhStrange things going on on his ebayshopHe sells small partsbut that's basically it.forget it...I won't recommend him..
