Willie G. Moseley Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 He/she was, at one time, probably respected somewhat as a "player's player", and such may still be the case to a lesser extent, by those who have heard his/her music. However, his/her solo material never made the BILLBOARD charts.He/she once had a brief association with a famous band. Nepotism may have played a part with the temporary membership.He/she has fancied himself/herself to be a socio-political commentator, writing a number of screeching screeds on a regular basis. In one of the "commentaries", he/she lampooned the cancer affliction of a national personality.He/she has alluded to the possibility of being under the influence of alcohol when some of his/her commentaries have been written. Some readers of his/her "commentaries" have lampooned right back at him/her, responding with sardonic comments like "Don't hold back---tell us how ya really feel!"He/she is on a short list of musicians that I would decline to interview if given the opportunity to do so. Sometimes you have to stand for something...even something as trivial as not being interested in profiling a musician who, in my opinion, fits the title of this thread (and there are probably others who conform to the title as well, for various and sundry reasons). To plagiarize Paul Harvey, he/she might want his/her name mentioned, but that ain't gonna happen. You're free to guess who I'm talking about, however.
cmatthes Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 'cept Willie's probably talking about a person who actually exists/existed!

Thundernotes Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 "Cou' he be arruding to me?" It's the first thing I think of when I hear "screeching" and "social-commentary" together.
atquinn Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 "Cou' he be arruding to me?" It's the first thing I think of when I hear "screeching" and "social-commentary" together. I don't think this phrase quite fits her He/she was, at one time, probably respected somewhat as a "player's player", and such may still be the case to a lesser extent, by those who have heard his/her music.
Steve Haynie Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Willie, have you been reading up on Jorma Kaukonen's brother again?
Buzzy Fretts Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Well it ain't this player. she may have stepped through the nepotism doorway and onstage with Derek and Warren. But she plays a fine guitar on her own.
