Menmojo Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Not mine but check this out.....This link on fleabay has six guitars for sale on one linkCheck out the bass!Scarabs
atquinn Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I think that guy's a rarely-posting member here? Anyway, he's done that same auction a few times and yet all the same guitars seem to be there time after time (despite the fact that the auctions are completing)? Not sure what he's trying to pull?-Austin
sw686blue Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 This guy is a complete tool. He calls out one of my auctions because I was charging $90 to ship a Hamer Standard from Canada to the US, yet he's charging $400 to ship one of those ugly POS.He seems to have a obsessive/compulsive issue with shipping stuff...hereand hereand hereand hereand hereOh, this is good...read post #11 from Armitage.
Armitage Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Yup, that's the guy who screwed me. "Immaculate, untouched, part of an unplayed personal collection!" One (turns out to be edited) picture of the guitar... so I asked specifically about scratches, nicks and bumps, and another picture... and I get "it's immaculate" and a sharp picture of a dozen identical guitars (the one he's selling me was behind others). I got warning emails for HFC brothers he was a jerk and had screwed others here... but I guess I was excited. It arrived a wreck. Really beat up with a mystery pickup, stripped Kahler and a shattered case. It looked as though someone had been throwing things at it. Paint worn down to the wood all over, that wasn't in the photo. I tried to get any explanation from him, and no reply. I finally gave up and left bad feedback and he replied "seller upset I wouldn't lie to customs." WTF.He's got numerous accounts, and also changes names (I didn't know you could do that), and sells tons of small stuff then dumps a guitar I guess he feels he got screwed on to the next guy.He sold two guitars the same day and I wrote the other buyer, and he said he got screwed too, but he left good feedback before his guitar even arrived because he felt guilty he was late in paying.Shipping to Canada, $400 Bwahahaha!Standard Int'l Flat Rate Shipping
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 atquinn,The market varies as to when people are looking for guitars, and is all about timing. The more often you advertise, and the more items that are displayed, the better chance of making a sale. Not trying to pull anything.silentman,Listing multiple guitars generates more interest and discussion, as evidenced by this thread.sw686blue,I have averaged $1000 for each one since I started selling off my collection. I bought most of them for $350.I guess there are still quite a few guitar players that like ugly POS guitars.Note the shipping is free for the US, and $400 for international. I do not consider Canada international.Overseas / across the ocean is international. I will be sure to clairify that when I relist. These have huge cases and are heavy when packed.I pack well and use large guitar boxes (Gibson, Martin, etc.) to ensure it arrives undamaged.I get charged OS2 (oversize #2) rates every time.As everyone knows, everything related to oil/gas has increased recently, including shipping.I see that Armitage canadian guy is making up lies again. He retaliated against me for not lying about the value on the customs documents. He begged me multiple times to list it as a gift, and I refused. So he decided to completely lie about the guitar since I would not lie for him on the customs documents, and he is still at it.I have sold half (20 or so) of my collection since I sold to Armitage, but he is the only one claiming he got screwed. Kinda odd that I have 100% feedback if I screw people.Hmmmmm .....Anyone else need anything clarified ?
MCChris Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Anyone else need anything clarified ?Yes. Are you the HFCer formerly known as ScarabArab?
Thundernotes Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Anyone else need anything clarified ? Have you ever read eBay's selling policies? Listings cannot use techniques to avoid or circumvent eBay fees. Except as noted in the specific policy as exceptions, sellers cannot: Offer a catalog from which buyers may directly order. Allow buyers a choice of significantly different items List a single item but offer additional identical items for sale in the item description. Include separate payment surcharges that buyers pay to use ordinary forms of payment. Misuse the Reserve Price option. Charge excessive shipping. Offer the opportunity through eBay to purchase the item or other merchandise outside of eBay. Use their About Me Page to promote outside-of-eBay sales or prohibited items.
Armitage Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I see that Armitage canadian guy is making up lies again. He retaliated against me for not lying about the value on the customs documents. He begged me multiple times to list it as a gift, and I refused. So he decided to completely lie about the guitar since I would not lie for him on the customs documents, and he is still at it. Now that's a riot. You're an arse and you know it, and so do many here. My story hasn't changed since the day I recieved it. Why would I lie? What's in it for me? Why bother? As if I'd care about the $15 I could have saved on that Scarab back then. And what, I beat the guitar up just to make you look bad? I bought replacement parts from guys here just to make you look bad? Sure. And you do have a $400 shipping to Canada, it comes up when I check your listing. I think my track record here says enough about me. So does yours.
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 MCChris,Yes, I was formerly ScarabArab. When 911 occurred, I changed my name.Thundernotes,These are all Hamer Scarab guitars. How do you consider them "significantly different" ?Armitage,I will be the bigger man here and not call you names.I explained the international shipping issue above. What anyone knows about the situation is the lies you told them. The deal was between you and I and we are the only ones who really know what happened.
Armitage Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Oh, and the only reason no bad feedback shows up, is that isn't the account you used to sell me the guitar.
Thundernotes Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 A Floyd, a Kahler, a zulu paint job, one of them is a bass...... but hey, what do I know?
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Oh, and the only reason no bad feedback shows up, is that isn't the account you used to sell me the guitar. Exactly. Thanks for clarifying that. This new account I created after your undeserved retaliatory feedback, and the feedback it contains, accurately reflects my reputation as a seller. A Floyd, a Kahler, a zulu paint job, one of them is a bass...... Does anyones else consider these items "significantly" different? The key word here is "significantly". To me "significantly different" would be a guitar and an amp, or two different brands, or two different models. Is anyone having "AnDy" flashbacks with this thread?
Thundernotes Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Well, you've got some nice guitars there, I just don't understand the auction. What exactly is someone bidding on? All of the guitars? Win the auction then take your pick of one? It's not making sense, but maybe I'm missing something in the listing. edit: Guess I wasn't the only one
Armitage Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Is anyone having "AnDy" flashbacks with this thread? Yes, AnDy was another fellow you screwed over.
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Thanks to whomever reported the first one and had it pulled. It allowed me to edit it and clarify the international shipping confusion. It has been relisted: Scarabs on eBay
Armitage Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 This new account I created after your undeserved retaliatory feedback, and the feedback it contains, accurately reflects my reputation as a seller.More B.S. That account ran another 6 years and then you moved on because of all the bad feedback others had given you.
marcnorth Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 That Bass is cool, even with the refinish. You beat me out on the auction for it way back when I was still doing alot of the eBay thing. I was sorry I missed out on it. I was on vacation while the auction was running and didn't have a lot of computer access.
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Yes, AnDy was another fellow you screwed over.More lies from Armitage, the Canadian who begged me to lie on international shipping customs documentation. Why didn't you give the details? Answer: It is so obvious I don't have to say.The only issue between AnDy and I was that there was a guitar on Gbase, or some other classified, and I offered the seller full price while Andy offered a low price, and the seller sold it to me.It had nothing to do with a guitar I sold.AnDy, or anyone else who remembers, feel free to confirm this.Keep them coming, Armitage. I feel the love!
Menmojo Posted August 22, 2008 Author Posted August 22, 2008 After reading all this BS I have to say sorry for the initial post!I smell a rat here! Here's the real question.....What are these people bidding on?????What will the winning bidder receive??? Some piece of Sh$$$* that the seller decides to put in a box then jam the buyer for a few more bucks in shipping???!!!Wow that sounds cool...not....I wish a lot of luck to who ever bids on this mystery box.............
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Which guitar is actually being auctioned?Take your pick. Your choice. Feel free to make an offer on any of them.
MCChris Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 After reading all this BS I have to say sorry for the initial post!No apologies necessary. The rest of us are loving it!
Submariner85 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Dunno if you all remember but about 2 years ago, I bought an SATF off some guy in New York. The original listing was for a Gataso? Studio and had a stock photo. With the buy it now price being so low, I asked hey you sure that's not an import and not a US made guitar, probably an SATF?He said, yeah that's what it is I just didn't have a camera to take a pic but it looks very much like this.I even asked him if it said Hamer in big letters or if it said slammer or slammer series on it anywhere, to which he said yes it says Hamer in big letters.I buy it and end up with a Slammer SP1 or whatever the hell they're called. The asshole said I took my chances. WTF???I filed a claim since I paid almost 300 for a 100 dollar guitar. Paypal got me all my bux back except the shipping but the process was long. Took a few months to resolve.
Scarabaeus Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 After reading all this BS I have to say sorry for the initial post!I smell a rat here! Here's the real question.....What are these people bidding on?????What will the winning bidder receive??? Some piece of Sh$$$* that the seller decides to put in a box then jam the buyer for a few more bucks in shipping???!!!Wow that sounds cool...not....I wish a lot of luck to who ever bids on this mystery box.............Now you know that is not the case. Shipping is free in the USA and Canada. And why the nasty comments? From anyone for that matter?I have come forward to clarify any issue and answer any question. Doesn't that mean anything?Or does the mob mentality rule this board?I have sold 20 or so of these over the past few years with no issues whatsoever, as well as other things. The feedback clearly shows no issues. The only rat you smell is that Canadian spreading misinformation.OK. I will seperate the auctions out individually. I thought it was obvious that it was buyers choice.I didn't realize some of you would take it so personal, either.
