atquinn Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 To answer some questions folks have asked, the neck carve is vintage and the original hardshell case is included.-Austin
BubbaVO Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Duuuuude. I've lusted for that one for a while. But I don't have the scratch. It looks like you're giving it away for close to what you got it for.

It looks like you're giving it away for close to what you got it for. Yeah, once you adjust for UPS and PayPal, I'm looking to get out what I paid. A pretty good deal if you're into the upgraded features. If not, there are about 1,048 Stuios on eBay right now that might be a better fit Also, the guitar weighs 7.5 lbs on my bathroom scale and I'm posting pics to: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v157/atq...tudio%20Custom/ The pics up now show the 3 dings on the front of the guitar; I'm still trying to get decent pics of the back of the neck. Shiny black is not an easy color to photograph -Austin
veatch Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I'm still trying to get decent pics of the back of the neck. Shiny black is not an easy color to photograph Yeah, black looks great, but it's a pain in neck to picture. You may already know this shtuff, but: Use a hair dryer on low to blow the dust off before the pic. Keep a soft glove or rag or whatever on the hand you're moving the guitar around with to avoid the smudgies. When you take a pic, change the angle slightly about 10 times, and you *might* get one or two without a nasty reflection. Indirect lights and no flash work a whole lot better. A crisp focus is key. Gorgeous guitar. If i didn't already have plans, i'd be jumping on this...

How does the Chambering affect her Tone? I'm still trying to get decent pics of the back of the neck. DavidE Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Don't the Seths squeal like a Banshee at high gain in that guitar?
bubs_42 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Really wanted this one.. I just have to many things cooking right now. Good Luck!
Mindseyes Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I Think i was going to bid on that one when it was on ebay, then BCR posted this one for sale and it had a bound head stock so the rest is history. I love trans black wish i had the extra $$$ Your's inspired me to some black p/u rings on mine, i need to take some updated pics of it!! Austin is great to deal with also !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try some late afternoon sun for pics.....
flattop Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I had the Seth Lovers on a Les Paul and they sqealed like a pig ,couldnt use any high gain at all on the guitar real disapointment.Im curious about this chamber business what differnce it makes to the tone?
atquinn Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 O.k., I've taken all the pics I plan on taking and posted them to: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v157/atq...tudio%20Custom/ As far as the Seth's go, I think they sound awesome, but the only amplified (as opposed to GT-10 through headphones) playing I've done with this guitar has been crystal clean to slightly-dirty. When it comes to high gain, it's pretty much straight to the '06 Studio. Artists and Newport Pros come with Seths, so if you've had squealing issues with those, expect to have only slightly less with this. Seths are at the higher end of Duncan's production pickup line price-wise, so it you yank 'em and sell 'em for, say a set of '59's (ugh ), you should at least break even. As far as the affect of chambering, it's hard for me to say because the majority of my Studio playing has been on my '06, which is a different ball of wax from the usual Studio. Compared to a solid Studio I had (which also an ebony fretboard, but different pickups), my chambered studios seems to have a tad bit softer attack and slightly scooped mids. -Austin PS. Thanks for the photo tips guys. Unfortunately, if I was waiting for natural sunlight to take pics, I would be waiting until next spring
specialk Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Congrats to Austin and the new owner! Great guitar. Too bad I am in the selling mode or it would've been gone sooner,
