Thundernotes Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I got an email from John Mann explaining the current status of MannMadeUSA. We'll get him activated soon so that he can answer your questions directly.I just signed up on your BB but can't reply. If you would be so kind to post for me I would appreciate it. Current status of MannMade USA:1.) I am in business, part-time, mostly nights & weekends. I work a 50-60 hr week day gig, which also includes some travel. So there are times that things take longer then they should...2.) I do personally manufacture all of my products, with the exception of nickel and gold plating. Sometimes things go wrong.... Rather than ship inferior parts, I remake them... Quality takes time...3.) If you don't get an e-mail reply, it means you sent it to someone else or the spam nazi ate it up. Send emails to jmann@mannmadeusa.com and use "Website Inquiry" in the subject box. This way it gets flagged and goes into a special folder in my e-mail.4.) Call me at 603-488-1912 - most days 8am - 8pm5.) Lead times range from 10 days to 30 days. I am working on improving that to 10 days max. Remember... I am a one man show... I may be slow sometimes... but I produce the best bridges available anywhere... and I am honest...6.) I accept PayPal, credit cards, money orders. I don't depoit any funds into my bank until shipment is made. 7.) I do have other items not shown on my website... ask... Thanks, John MannMade USA LtdPO Box 6034Manchester, NH 03110 USA www.mannmadeusa.com603-488-1912
serial Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 That's VERY cool. Thanks for posting that. When I finally get that InfernalPaul project going, I'd much rather have one of these trems on it.

MCChris Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Those are some nice looking pieces. Wow!+1. I never use the trems on my Strats because I'm spoiled by the PRS trem, and my PRS is my go-to guitar because of the trem.
holLoWskull Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 great post Brian! For a time earlier this year I went on a spree of collecting all the Mannmade/Fishman piezo trems I could find. I think it must have been late 90's/early 2000's when Fishman went with another design (the current VMV) that IMHO is nowhere near as well made as the Mannmade units are/were. Those Mannmade units are top notch.
cmatthes Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I still maintain that they are the best in the business. The trem on my '80s Custom has been FLAWLESS since I got it, nearly two decades ago.
e-isle rock Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Wow, those do look nice. Do you think any of his bridges are a direct, drop in replacement for the Wilkinson VSVG on Daytona's and the ABM roller bridge on the VintageS's/T-62's?
Factree Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Does anyone know if these have pop in trem arms or screw? They looks amazing, only wish I could afford one...
Lew Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I used him a couple of times for projects and the bridges are AMAZING!
atquinn Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Wow, those do look nice. Do you think any of his bridges are a direct, drop in replacement for the Wilkinson VSVG on Daytona's and the ABM roller bridge on the VintageS's/T-62's?For the VSVG's I believe the answer is yes (sine the Wilky's are drop in Fender replacements). Not sure about the T62 bridges though.-Austin

Do you think any of his bridges are a direct, drop in replacement for the Wilkinson VSVG on Daytona's and the ABM roller bridge on the VintageS's/T-62's?The Fishman/Mannmade unit was a direct fit replacement for the Wilkinson VSV on my Mirage I.I have a feeling that the stud spacing on the ABM fulcrum trems (like on the Vintage S/T-62) will be slightly narrower then the Mannmade ones, but you'd have to double check. I say this only because I tried fitting another 'Strat style' 2-stud bridge to my T-62 one time just to see how it would look and it didn't quite fit.Fortunately the ABM fulcrum trem has got to be one of the very best 2-stud tremolos ever made (from operation to build quality), so replacing them with just about anything out there would likely be a downgrade or an even push at best.

Not sure which. At anyrate, they're getting hard to come by and the bridge on my VintageS is about done.

At anyrate, they're getting hard to come by and the bridge on my VintageS is about done.Allparts still lists them on their website (though the price went up). There was a problem w/ the company (supposedly the owner passed away or something like that), but I believe Allparts is trying to have the parts manufactured still.I think I have a nice shape 'parts' ABM fulcrum trem (baseplate & roller saddles only) in chrome lying around somewhere. I don't think I'll ever have a need for it, so if you want it (and assuming I can find it in the cluttered parts bins) shoot me an e-mail w/ your address info and it's your's.
