Travis Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I don't know if the maple or koa Mirage IIs demand different prices. But I was wondering if I was in the market for a Mirage II, what would I be looking at? The only one I saw on the bay recently was a blue maple top go for $650. It wasn't in mint condition but that wouldn't be an issue for me anyway. Thanks
RobB Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 $650-900 seems reasonable, depending on condition. I paid more for my MirageII, but it was NOS. I dig mine and use it all the time.
hardheartedbill Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I just gigged my I and II last night, it's fun to pull out a matched pair LOL ( save the pickups ) these guitars are underated gems, get a tapped set of pups in a II and your a gig machine
holLoWskull Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I picked my blue 96' Mirage II up for $720 sans pickups (I had ones I was going to put in it anyways on hand, so that wasn't a problem for me). Mine was in damn nice shape w/ OHSC, so I figured the price was about the going rate. I think around $750-$850 for a mint\near mint used one is in the ballpark. $650 was probably a fair price for that gcrep one that was on ebay a little while back, considering it was probably in VG\maybe excellent minus shape. I always give the Mirage II's a plug when I get a chance to, so I'll say it again...mine is my #1 favorite electric! The 5-way superswitch mod I did makes this thing the most versatile electric guitar I have for live gigs too. Pick one up, you won't be sorry.
hardheartedbill Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Fagboy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 freakin sunburst Mirage Mapletops, you da man!
DavidE Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I don't know that I've seen a sunburst Mirage mapletop before. Nice!!!If mine had been lighter weight (I had a Kool Blue and a Red), I would have kept one.
Hamer95USA Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Hey everybody, Man, you guys are killing me!! I love the Mirage II guitars especially fagboy's guitars. You guys have some real pretty looking guitars. I bet they sound real nice too!! I didn't think anything of them until recently. It reminds of a PRS guitar with better parts. Your getting my G.A.S. all stirred up inside of me. Damn you!! Guitar George
mrhappy Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Here's one more to stir up that gas! I think you need a pair. If the Admiral kicks in it'll REALLY push you over the edge... He's got some beauts!!!
Caddie Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 It appears that someone has a case of Mirage OCD. Just curious fagboy (if that is indeed your REAL name), how many Hamer Mirages do you own?Noonan
mrhappy Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Caddie... No... "fagboy" isn't on my birth certificate! LOL As far as the HFC in concerned I'm the artist formerly known as "mrhappy". When we shifted to the new board I had an old email address and couldn't get my password for that name. So far I've been unable to convince Ted that I'm "mrhappy" but I'll try again soon when all the excitement dies down a bit. Oh... and I currently have 5 Mapltops, a Koa II and a Koa I... a bit excessive I know.
Caddie Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Sooooo......taking this to the extreme (which is my specialty) does that make you "mr happy fagboy"? ;-) ;-) Just kidding, but you knew that. This is a shot of my '96 Koa Mirage II. Veeeerrrry nice Mirage collection you have there sir. Well done. Those sunburst maple tops of yours are special looking indeed. Keep up the good work and if I happen to see a Mirage parked in someone's driveway with a "For Sale" sign on it I'll make sure to drop a note to you. Noonan
Lockbody Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Looks like bad news ahead for a great guitar...I'm having Standard GAS and there may be no other way.
Lockbody Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 MrHappy's (fagboy's) honey-top Mirage is probably my favorite one of any of 'em.'Course, that tobacco sunburst ain't too bad either.
