Feynman Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I am spending too much lately, and this Sunburst just has me tickled pink, so: --- I know I will regret this, but... This is a 2007 '60 NOS Custom Shop Strat with the Wildwood 9.5" / 6105 treatment. 3TSB Original case and all goodies. Some of the best sounding Strat pickups I have ever heard. I hesitate to say "mint," but it's as close as any guitar that has been played can probably get. It has been babied. Recent pro setup. 8.02 pounds per the Wildwood spec sheet. I don't know what else to say. This is just a fantastic Strat in every regard. Many more pics in the slideshow here: http://www.slide.com/r/decs9dm66j-e5oogDKf...p;view=original A couple to get you started: Please let me know if you have any questions. I would like to get $1650 shipped (the amount I have in it). I would consider a Mesa Studio .22+ or other similar small combo in partial trade. Thanks. -mitch
Feynman Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 I may have a problem. My guitars seem to gather no moss.
sw686blue Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I love that Strat! And Mitch too!! The boy has style!
harryjmic Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Your not getting the Standard back, so don't ask. Good luck on the sale, hard to buy guitars sight unseen, I've been lucky.
velorush Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Drool! This is everything I like about the older Strats (namely, the trem and headstock) and everything I like about the new Strats (fretboard radius and larger frets). This would be an outstanding guitar. The Year Of The Stratocaster isn't ending, it is just shifting elsewhere in the space-time continuum.
veatch Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 So... who had March 18th in the poll?Gorgeous Strat, Mitch. If i didn't have my money tied up on something... Ah, you know the rest...Good luck on the sale!
LordOfTheThighs Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 The F-Man has a disease, far worse than GAS. It's called G.D. or Guitar Diarrhea. He ingests them, but passes them violently thru his system to sell.Good luck with da sale bro!
davidd Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Beautiful Strat! When you say Wildwood treatment, do you mean that they do the work after it comes from Fender or is it ordered that way from Fender? Thanks,David
Feynman Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 They are ordered that way from Fender. As I understand it, and I may be wrong (if anyone knows better feel free to jump in), there are three Fender retailers with enough buying power/sales/clout/something to be able to commission special runs from Fender. Those are Dave's, Wildwood and Music Machine. In this case, the guitar is the '60 NOS Custom Shop Strat with a change from vintage radius and frets to the 9.5" and 6105s. For me, it's practically Strat perfection. These CS 60s pickups are SO nice. This thing sounds as good as it looks to me.They seem to run in the range of $2500 new I think. Wildwood has two for $2665, but they have flamed necks, which I assume is an upcharge over the plainer one mine has.http://wildwoodguitars.com/electrics/fende...1819/r41819.php
Feynman Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 I forgot to mention that it has a 5-way switch installed (by Wildwood before delivery). The original 3-way is also still in the case, as well as the strap, cert, and all the other misc case stuff.
backinit Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Watch out Feynman. I have a suspicion that 2010 might be the year of the tele. Not just any tele though.
Feynman Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Every year is the year of the Tele.Tele == perfect.
Devnor Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Email me pics of the Sunburst so I can make plans to buy that.
Feynman Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 Devnor, email sent. Did I mention you get a Custom Shop bumper sticker?
