holLoWskull Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I've been without internet for a few days and thinking wow, this ain't so bad. That is until I saw this ebay score (that hopefully someone here was fortunate enough to walk into). To those of you who say you can't get a nice used USA Cali Elite for under $1,500....drum roll....I give you the QUILT maple Cali Elite for $599 shipped!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/Hamer-Californian-91-U...A1%7C240%3A1318Not quite the $500 something Watson score, but not too far off.

Feynman Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Wait - it's relisted at $2K by the same seller.http://cgi.ebay.com/Hamer-Californian-91-U...%3A3%7C294%3A50I wonder what happened... let's speculate! Think they shafted their bidder?
crunchee Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 It figures. The seller's only got 11 feedbacks at the moment besides, very little to stop him from starting all over again anyway, regardless of negative feedback.
atquinn Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Good feedback and 1K less vs bad feedback and 1K more. Kinda scummy, but I really can't blame the seller on that one -Austin

Devnor Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I curious if anyone told the seller that guitar was undervalued.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I curious if anyone told the seller that guitar was undervalued.Yeah...I was wondering (and about to post) if we know for sure someone used BIN and the seller still relisted, or if he just canceled the auction and relisted?Of course, I can't access eBay right now, so maybe those answers are obvious to anyone who can...
zorrow Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 That Cali is a true beauty... and I am soooooo superficial! But no guys, I haven't suffered from any acute GAS crisis since last year --even when faced to those amazing Vectors we've seen around lately. Maybe I'm cured? PS: Well, I just pray for not seeing for sale "a certain" Bigsby-equipped Green Cadillac Monaco III, because in that case I would be seriously tempted to break my own rules.
holLoWskull Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Wow, what a crock of sh!t that is (being relisted after somebody used BIN the first time)!!!! Was it sold under market value (the first time)...yes, of course, but the seller set the price and the (first) buyer merely jumped on the BIN. So now it appears ebay is getting like craigslist (a good deal pops up, somebody snags it, other people who were too late get pissed and tell the seller they'll give them X more dollars if they'll sell it to them instead or how the guitar is worth so much more)? I can understand Capitalism and wanting to get top dollar for your stuff, but as a seller it's up to you to do some research to get an idea of what the market value on something is if you're going to put a hard price on something. I really hope my post of the auction link here on the HFC didn't cause the buyer to lose out on the deal because of people e-mailing the seller with higher offers...as a frugal Hamer shopper and someone who enjoys seeing folks (even if it's not me) occassionally score a great deal, that would make me feel absolutely horrible
crunchee Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Is this them? It seems to fit the seller monicker on the auction:http://www.yelp.com/biz/guitar-gallery-washington
