Baccus 'Rick Neilson' Explorer for sale

My local shop has one of these made of mahogany, made by Bacchus. The guitar is used. It is ¥40,000, or about $400. I didn't ask about the case, but they will ship world wide. It looks like the one on the right, (pictured but with gold hardware). The shop owner speaks and reads some English, so I could pass on e-mail addresses to him. It is a very cool guitar at a bottom friendly price. I only looked at it on the wall, I could give a better hands on description later, if anyone wants it. The shop is only about 700m from my home.

I have no interest in the guitar. I am only passing on info as some of you are Cheap Trick Otaku.

That should be the standard Futura copy from them. Isn't Bacchus, Burny and Fernandes all the same, just different badges for different lines?

I don't know much about the Bacchus quality - the Fernandes stuff is better at the higher end of the range, and ONLY the Jpns stuff is worth buying. Burny can be pretty spotty and I haven't actually encountered a Bacchus here in the States.

Thanks for the tipoff though! Now, I've gotta find a Fernandes MG-115C at a bottom-feeder price...

I CAN vouch for Bacchus quality. I picked this up in Japan on my last deployment. It blows my Gibson out of the water. It's a shame I didn't hit Japan before Canada(where I got the Gibby). The neck joint is every bit as flawless as my old 97 Korina Vector, but the body is about half as thick and much, much lighter. If those Futura things didn't look so damn goofy I'd buy it in 2 seconds.

Do they have another V?!!

Fernandes and Burny are much the same.Fernandes was used in Fender style and heavy metal style guitars and Burny in Gibson style replicas.Bacchus is not the same,it is a factory brand(Headway) if I'm correct .Altough not the case Bacchus has a chinese line(cheaper) I think they called universe or such.

El Kabong,very nice guitar ;)

I own a MG-115C and it's a very cool guitar.. Most of the Japanese stuff I have played over the years were good guitars.

Yes, they have 2 Bacchus V's. One is natural mahogany, (it looks like yours, Formula 73), but I think there are no p-up covers. I think it is ¥38,000. They also have a black one for around ¥36,000. The natural mahogany one has a D shaped neck and an extra hole on the back from a strap pin experiment. I have no idea if they have cases or not.

If you are interested, please mail Mr. Yagi at: tone-music@mth.biglobe.ne.jp

He will send you photos, if you wish. He only accepts direct wire transfer and will ship by courier. The prices are too low to bother with going to the post office on his private time. Good luck.

we should read more about this

That's bullsheet! They moved that other "sales" post and left this one here!

Here's the connection for you Bill.

Rick Nielsen plays "Hamers", and this guitar is kinda a copy of his "Hamer" model!

It was a "if you're interested in this" type post, and funny enough people here WERE interested in it. It wasn't just another BCAss ad for another brand new GMP that needs heavy modding to make it somewhat right, (But then doesn't that make it a used guitar now? ;) ) or another ugly Robin guitar.

You're welcome,

Jeff.

Thanks dude! I sent him an email. I'd love to have both guitars to tinker with. Those things are bitchin! If all you guys on here think the newer Korean Deans and Hamers are nice, you'd shit yourselves over these.

Whatever it is I hope it has nothing to do with the pelvic thrusting stormtrooper.

It's astounding;

but am I the only one that things of the "Time Warp lyrics" when looking at that Avatar.

"It's just a jump to the left

And then a step to the right

With your hands on your hips

You bring your knees in tight

But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,

Let's do the Time Warp again!"

hmmm, I remember reading a post by Matte Henderson over on the Gear Page talking about how good the Bacchus guitars were, especially their Gibson Flying V copy.

How does JJ Paul like his Bacchus Clapton Explorer?
