Will someone with a Talladega...

i've seen all the Tally clips out there... and... quite honestly... most of them are simply distorted - albeit good - tones.

BUT... i'd like to here some samples of trying to capitalize on any "Tele" like tones the Tally might have.

i'm wanting to hear the true range of tones from this guitar... and from all the clips i've heard so far... i haven't really heard - what i would call - the Tele side... you know... that spanky in-between pickups thing.

anyone out there with a Tally... can you cook up some clips of Tele-like runs for me? (if, the guitar is capable of that... which i'm hoping so).

I seem to remember a review on YouTube somewhere that went through all the positions, but i can't seem to find it.

Here's a sexy clip from Mr. Greg V., though:

Edit to add: Found it...

It was at Premier Guitar:

thanks... i've heard those. honestly i didn't hear a lot of "T" type tones in there. so, this is why i'm asking.

granted... i really like the guitar and the tones i've heard so far... and, on a whim, i even have one on order.... but i would like to hear if it does the quacky chicken-picken sort of thing. to my ears... i just haven't heard a good clip of that yet. (am i making any sense? i may not be describing this well)

I would. But I swapped out the bridge pickup for a humbucker. The stock pickup was nice, but I've never been much of a Tele guy. I had a T51 Hamer Tele that sounded amazing. But I sold it after getting my Tally because I thought it was a little redundant for me to have both, what with me not being much of a Tele guy...

Bottom line, if you want a Tele, get a Tele. If you want a kick ass, totally versatile tone machine, get a Tally.

i think you're misunderstanding me... i DO think it's a kick-ass guitar... i have one on order.

i'm not expecting the Tally to BE a Tele... i just want to know how close it gets... as that's the only sound sample i haven't heard anywhere yet.

I agree that with all of the reference to tele like tones the Tally can cop there are no clean clips out there.

Maybe if Arnie Z will let me pay him a visit we can put some down.

Not that he couldn't do it; I just want to play his Tally!

He has one sweet Tally.

thanks! i feel better now that someone knows where i'm coming from. hope you get to lay some "tones" down soon!

and yes... i've seen pics of the Tally that Arnie has... very sweet indeed!

well, haven't heard anything from anyone yet... but i did find a "few" clips on youtube of Kal David and his Tally... i'd still like to hear some more "clean" samples like this... but nonetheless... here they are:

it's cool to hear the Tally really clean like this - in it's natural state without any overdrive or distortion to color it.

anyone else found anything yet?

here's a great clip... it's Matt Smith and the NY Monstas... and he's using a Tally!

this is just the kind of stuff i've been looking for... he's using it like a clean Tele and it sounds great. check it out around 2:05 or so...

this is great!

Wow. Sounds nice and Teleish. Perhaps Matt Smith could make a sock sound like a Tele though. We need more clips like these!

That looks FUN.

lol... yeah, you've got a point there!

i've heard a lot of nice Tally stuff... but this was just what i was looking for. i wanted to hear that Tele type bite and he really nailed it on that clip. we all know what the Talladega can do when distorted and even pushed hard... there's quite a few clips out there... but it's really nice to hear the clean stuff like this - to get a complete picture of the full range of the Tally... you know?

i'll keep looking and hopefully i can find more of the cleaner clips like this.

thanks... i've listened to that clip quite a bit... and though, it's a good clip and shows a lot of Tally tones, "to me" i really didn't get a "tele" feel out of it at all. this is basically what started me on my quest to see if it could indeed sound like a tele... or tele like. which i feel that matt did accomplish in his clip (in my last post).

thought i'd keep this going, in case anyone's interested...

here's another pretty good Tally clip with some fairly spanky cleans (i like this clip)...

Nice tune from guitarworld. Much better than the one from premierguitar for my opinion.

Thanks for posting. I could actually hear some useful comparisons. That seems to be one fine guitar.
