elduave Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 $529 + ship. Just like this one except no signature and it's a Cort. Who wants one?
marcnorth Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 That's a good deal, they were trying to sell these for $5000 on the internet a few months ago. How heavy are they?
elduave Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 That's a good deal, they were trying to sell these for $5000 on the internet a few months ago. How heavy are they?Cort makes 'em. Gene's $5K models come sans Cort logo and with signature, #, and meet n' greet. Not sure of the weight, pre-orders are being taken for March delivery. Come's with Gene image gig bag.Cort makes good stuff. Really!
elduave Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Set neck?IIRC. Spec sheet is @ work. It's this:http://genesimmonsaxebass.com/
Brooks Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Cort makes good stuff. Really!they really do. i had a solid spruce top acoustic that sounded great. i currently have a beat to shit cort steinberger type for travel. cort & samick make 75% of the imports out there, regardless of what name is on the headstock.
elduave Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Hold the phone! Bolt-on. That's too bad.
elduave Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Is it? The Gene one isn't...Yes. The Cort is a bolt-on. The Gene one is not.
LostArt Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 cort makes great guitars they have for years if my memory serves me well Kramer made the first simmon's ax they were all signed and numbered and used the metal tuning fork headstock necked roman bought the remaining bodies from the factory and in the 90's was buying up tuning fork kramer guitars and necks to make his bogus gene simmons' models. I remember talking to him about it when he bought a tuning fork guitar I had. I said they were all signed and numbered his reply was "only you and I know and remember that" so........ what can I say????
cmatthes Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Is it? The Gene one isn't... Yes. The Cort is a bolt-on. The Gene one is not. Guess that explains the $4,500 difference...
Armitage Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I imagine Gene will bring these to a halt real fast... they'll probably become more collectible then the real ones!
tommy p Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I passed a link to this thread along to my bass player (major Kiss-head) but he wasn't bold enough to be the God of Thunder. I'm sure they'll get plenty of these sold at that price.
elduave Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 I imagine Gene will bring these to a halt real fast... they'll probably become more collectible then the real ones!Cort has Gene's OK.He'll be at their NAMM booth.
Armitage Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Probably the same logic as Stanley going to Silvertone for a while. Once you sell all you can to the people who will pay the big bux, move down the ladder to the guys who can't.

Helped of course by our friends at FMIC.

cmatthes Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Thanks for your patience, folks! 2 shipping out this week. It's a shame those didn't come in last week - Rog Hillis just played in Baltimore on Sunday! We've gotta go see him next time he crosses the line into MD. I'll drive! I've gotta ask - purely out of curiousity, but what do you think about those?
elduave Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 I've gotta ask - purely out of curiousity, but what do you think about those? Way lighter than I thought they'd be, impossible to play sitting down.
cmatthes Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Way lighter than I thought they'd be, impossible to play sitting down. :( (Careful with that Axe, Eugene!)
serial Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Call me when Roger is back around! He needs one of these.
cmatthes Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Call me when Roger is back around! He needs one of these.I believe he ordered one from Elduave/Rocketeria as soon as I told him about 'em!

Armitage Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Those look really cool elduave! I had one of the original Kramer Axes and it was terrible neck heavy. I had a local luthier copy it with a wood neck... it gets noticed.
