lockjawnight Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I had two of those about 10 years ago. One was rough and I sent it to Bernie Sr. to have it completely redone electronically and had it refinished (in red of couse) as well. If I still had a scanner I'd post a pic. Sold it to Paul Chapman (ex-UFO) took me forever to get all the money...LOL. Last time I checked he still had it.It was a great guitar when it came back but a bit unwieldy in some ways. Proud to say I had them. Good luck on the search.
GusS Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Thoste arte greatt guittars. Gootd luckt tin yotur seartch. ahaha so good
veatch Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Seriously, 84, those are great guitars, but a bit hard to find. I've been looking, but finding a lot more 6's than 10's. I have my eyes out, though. There are quite a few newer US Custom Shop models out there, if you're interested in that.http://www.beatstreetmusic.net/product_inf...roducts_id=8538http://www.themusiczoo.com/category/15X0/BC-Rich-Guitars/I know yer looking for an 80's model, though...Good luck.
cmatthes Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Those don't come up very often, but when they do, tend to have a lot of lookers. That's one of those guitars I always wanted as a kid.I just came across a pic of Joe Perry with his red Bich and Brad Whitford playing his blue one together from '80.
HamStd Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I sent you an email as well. I have the 6 string, the 10 string and the 18 string flavors. Not cheap but honestly getting very hard to find the original series. Nothing like having two pre-amp going at once and a six position variatone. Email me at Hamstd@gmail.com if you want more info. For those that haven't played a 70'-80's BC RICH, now these are SMOOTH necks that are meant to shred on. You don't know buttah until you play one of these. Peter
cornjulio Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Peter...one of those days do me a favor, post this incredibly short list of guitars you DON'T have and then I 'll go and picture the rest. You live in Guitar Paradise?Cheers d'Allemagne, hope to see you again on the westcoast some time in the future....
Armitage Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 A Double Neck Bich has always been my Holy Grail.
murkat Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 You don't know buttah until you play one of these. Peter Oh, I know nice bich's Pete J
Armitage Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I wonder, are 6-10 String Biches neck heavy, or the Double Neck?I wonder how much a Double Neck would cost to order now? I'd easily dump my Gibson for one...
eightyfour Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 Hey all, thank you for your leads and feedback on the 10-string Bich search. I have a dear friend that is recovering from the big C and owned one back in the old circus days. His wife and I along with some old bandmates decided to try and find one hoping it would give him a lift. We weren't prepared for what these things are going for, so it's back to the drawing board. BC Rich has some cool budget level models that we're considering, so all's not lost. Thanks again for the help.
HamStd Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Cornelius, absolutely let me know if you are doing a show out here. It would be good to catch up with you again.Bill, the BICH 6 and 10 are not neck heavy, but I think that is partly due to how they set up the strap button positions. They are really comfortable even when you sling it low ala Jimmy Page style. The doubleneck is heavy but not as heavy as many the doubleneck SGs I have. Again it balances very well. There is a ton of electronics in them. The worse part is actually the anvil cases for these, now THOSE are HEAVY!!!BC Rich is making the doubleneck again-but is not even in the same league-crap in my opinion (my apologies to anyone that loves the new BC Rich stuff, I'm old school on these). Honestly speaking ever since the first time the company went down they have never been the same IMHO. The 70-80's guitars are truly classic, the stuff after that dealer in Vegas had a hand in it are just a rip off and abuse of in complete pieces made by the original BC RICH crew that he "finished up" and then sold as all original (beware of any BC RICHs with a green finish and quilt that would looks over the top insane) and I am not impressed by the stuff the Bernie's son is doing now. I am sure Neal Moser will make you one, but it will probably take a pretty long time and cost alot of $$.They are out there if you are patient.Peter
