SirDouglas Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Hey Mesa that a baby blue vox behind the v??? wanna part with that? Sir Douglas Randy
Guest Mike Lee Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 That's most of the display from the Summer NAMM show in Indy. The bursts look better in person. Iced Tea is about the most perfect faded '59 LP burst I've seen. There must be something about tortoise binding on Korina (shrinkage?), because the Subtone has some of the issues others had with it (HHB?).
mesadude Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005  Hey Mesa that a baby blue vox behind the v??? wanna part with that? Sir Douglas Randy Nope, it's a 'Phantom' twelve-string from: Phantom Guitars... up in Oregon. I used to have a black & white Vox Phantom XII, but sold it off in the late '90's. I picked this new one up a couple of years ago from a guitar shop in Portland, Oregon. It's a sweet little XII. Here's another picture of it with it's brother the Ric 660-12. Mesadude
Guerrilla Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 that standard does not look aztec gold at all! strange lighting in the pic, maybe?
Buzzy Fretts Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Black and Bigsbied. Damn. I've been mulling that one this summer. She needs to be with her family. Come to daddy...
MCChris Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 (shrinkage?) Easy fix. Keep 'em away from cold water. Those Monaco basses are awesome. Allen Woody would have loved 'em.
ET_KenW Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 (shrinkage?) Easy fix. Keep 'em away from cold water. Those Monaco basses are awesome. Allen Woody would have loved 'em. HEHE....HEHE......He put "shrinkage" and "Woody" in the same post.HEHE.....HEHE.....
hamerican gigolo Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I got the chance to play the iced-tea Monaco at the NAMM show. That's theguitar that gave me Monaco lust.
Guest teefus2 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 i handled most of those at summer namm. all were fabulous. i would be curious to know what the upcharge is to put filtertrons in the newport.
Guest Mike Lee Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Somwhere between "a lot" and "a shitload".VERY cool though.
Guest teefus2 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Somwhere between "a lot" and "a shitload".VERY cool though. ya, i figured it would be pretty steep. the route is radically different. how are those filtertrons mounted?
BCR Greg Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 The day that Buzzy came and picked up the 12... I don't think he tasted the chinese dinner an hour after this pic was taken...
Luke Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Why would you use a rusty old bunker door as a backdrop? Go to WalMart and buy a $10.00 blanket.
Guest pirateflynn Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Why would you use a rusty old bunker door as a backdrop? Go to WalMart and buy a $10.00 blanket. I love that door............and love those beautiful guitars, too.
BCR Greg Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 There's always grille cloth.... I like the door, it's different.
edgar_allan_poe Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 The bound F-holes really make Buzzy's 12'er. They just set the whole guitar off...
Buzzy Fretts Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 I don't think he tasted the chinese dinner an hour after this pic was taken... Judging by the shape of the guy, that would have been one chinese dinner too many. Yeah Poe, bound F = good thing. And I cast one vote for the *classic* steel doors.
