BadgerDave Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 No lie! I've been lusting after one of these since I saw Mark Farner play one with Grand Funk in the mid 70's. I don't think I saw one in person untill about three years ago when I passed on the chance to buy one locally for $1,800 'cause I thought the price was excessive. Since then, prices have shot up into unreachable territory. I've seen two Blonde/Natural versions sell for over $5,500 and Cherrybursts go for over $4,000 in the last year. This one has two mini toggles added, so I was able to get it for about half of the current going rate. Since it was in far better condition than the one I passed on three years ago, I pulled the trigger. Perhaps the mods can be "reversed" (Greg?) Anyway, I'll need to unload a guitar or two to accomodate this one. I'm thinking of letting my '84 Sunburst go. If I do, I'll post it on the "For Sale" page with photos first. It' a 1978 L5s. Waddaya' think:
eightyfour Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I think this means you're free to pack up the b&c sunburst and ship it out to Seattle. Right?
anotherfreak2 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Are you gettin it form Dave's up in La Crosse?

MCChris Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 This one has two mini toggles added, so I was able to get it for about half of the current going rate. Since it was in far better condition than the one I passed on three years ago, I pulled the trigger. Perhaps the mods can be "reversed" (Greg?) Is there a '70s guitar that didn't have mini-toggles installed during the '80s?I'd leave 'em. Looks like whoever put 'em in did a good job.
hardheartedbill Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 cool axe! A friend of mine had one for years, I always lusted after it, good score!
straightblues Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 If looks are the only consideration (and I know their not) your to Hamers are much better to look at IMHO. Enjoy it!!!!!!
