I think it was a Monday when this guitar got lacquered. I obviously have an advantage when I look at this serial number because I can tilt the guitar back and forth. I'm guessing 654960. I'm saying it starts with 6 because the seller said it was 2006 and when I twist it back and forth I think I can see a 6 in there. The 5th digit is a bit tricky too. Any other guesses.

Try rubbing a pencil on some paper over the serial no. I've done that for a guitar or two that I couldn't distinguish a digit or two on. Worth a shot-it worked about 50% of the time.

Maybe a black light could help?

I have a 2008 that starts "856..."

A 2007 that starts "755..."

I had a 2005 that started "554..."

I'm guessing you're correct that the first digit is a 6. Could be a 5, not very likely a 4 or a 7.

I'd be guessing on those last two digits.

You could date the pots to know for sure what the first digit is unless the guitar was completed in January which could very likely have a pote date of the year before...

"Well I think it looks like death!"

"That's something you wear on your arm, not put on y'fookin' turntable!"
