Ting Ho Dung Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Man, Can't you leave at least one or two nice guitars for the rest of us? Do you have to have them all? That thing is going to be smokin' along with your CO when it's done.
BadgerDave Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I love it! It would be better with some zebra stripes - just sayin'
diablo175 Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 I love it! It would be better with some zebra stripes - just sayin' I'd normally be inclined to agree with you, Badger. But given the arrival of the custom Czech Cali and the newly repainted Blitz, the bright color and black scheme has been covered. Gotta avoid redundancy... ...on 6 Calis.

That thing is going to be smokin' along with your CO when it's done. Now now, Thorn, there are PLENTY of really nice Cali's still out there... ...that will likely become mine someday as well.
murkat Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I just want to thank you for not adding that second humbucker in there. Your welcome.
diablo175 Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 I just want to thank you for not adding that second humbucker in there. Your welcome. True enough. Jay talked me down off the ledge. Was all set to get the rout done and Jay did some last minute hail-mary maneuvering. Good call, Jay.
Steve Haynie Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Will there be an accompanying zombie killer green handled machete and pocket knife set with that axe?
diablo175 Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Will there be an accompanying zombie killer green handled machete and pocket knife set with that axe? Umm... sure. Guess that's a TV/movie reference I've missed...?
Steve Haynie Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 The trend among the knife companies is to use a similar green to the paint on your in-progress guitar and label everything as "zombie killer."
diablo175 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Hot DAMN!It's on it's way. T- minus 5 hours and counting 'til NGD. The custom Cali formerly known as Fung's has a new look courtesy of Stike and will be in my mitts this afternoon.Tone report and pics to follow. That is all.
diablo175 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 This will likely complete the herd of Cali's. In all honesty, I can't see adding any others and certainly not without cutting an equal number loose; as I discovered last weekend at my gig, I can't choose from the herd without agonizing over the decision. Bringing 6 to a gig is both idiotic and over the top unnecessary for band of our status and a guitar mangler of my caliber. And when you factor in that I actually own several non-Cali's/Hamer's that work exceptionally well in a live situation, this compounds the problem. I know, we should ALL be so unfortunate, right?
diablo175 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Here she is, in all her retina-searing glory!
analogsystem Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I love the look of single pickup Calis, and I LOVE the eyeball-melting yellow. As much as I love regular Calis, the fact that the angle of the neck pickup is slightly off from the angle of the fretboard extension always seemed slightly off to my eye. The single pickup version does not have this issue.Your collection is AMAZING!
diablo175 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Thanks, Analog! IMO, it doesn't get much more 80's hair metal/shred than this. Am strongly considering making it my drop D tuned shredder for goodies like Ratt's Lay It Down and others.
Stike Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Here she is, in all her retina-searing glory! That one hurts MY eyes and that's saying something.
Bennyboy-UK Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 What do you call that colour? Does it have a name?
diablo175 Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Awesome! hats off to all involved! To be sure, Jay had a major hand in this: swapping guts and p'ups , dressing frets, eradicating evidence of someone else' custom specs, etc.
