BadgerDave Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 BMW R1150r sport touring motorcycle. 2002 model with 22,000 miles. I'm the second owner. Runs perfectly, garaged, meticulously maintained, absolutely no issues. (Well, one - there is a plugged nail hole in the center of the rear tire tread. It's held full pressure for over a year). Rare Atlantic Blue Metallic factory paint with matching sidecases (factory cases, custom aftermarket paint). New clutch with less than 200 miles. All work and maintenence done by a BMW dealership. Includes new GIVI touring windshield (not pictured). I can deliver this within a reasonable distance from Chicago. Probably 300 miles max. $4,495.00 or trade for an unmolested 4 digit standard, Virtuoso, Improv, possibly a vintage Marshall 50 watt head, Gibson Historic or something else of similar value.

ZR Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Why sell the bike? Got your mind on another? Very nice.
BubbaVO Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I've been lusting after an R 1200 GS. But that 1150 is a good looking bike ...
Carl.B Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Sure you would have to show me this after writing a big ass check for my son's college tuition. If you would off put this up 2 months ago I would have made him get a second job this summer!
BadgerDave Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Why sell the bike? Got your mind on another? Very nice. I've already bought this:
Lockbody Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I almost did the same thing a few years back. I had a R1100RS and wanted more, so I went out and bought a K1200RS "taxi", with the plan of giving the R to the wife. The Ks are definitely awesome bikes with an engine that makes power like an electric motor, but I found it kind of boring, actually. The K-RS excels at high speed touring and fast sweepers, but both those are in short supply around these parts, and it's so smooth that if I wasn't blasting around WOT everywhere it felt like I was sitting still. I ended up selling the K and keeping my R-RS.Don't be so quick to sell the R.
gtone Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Yep - gotta love those boxer twins! The K's inline powerplant may be smooth, powerful, seamless and refined, it just seems to be missing something of that Beemer essence.
django49 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Hmmm...... I DO have an "unmolested" Improv.....Good looking bike. But I have been outta that game too long to start over now.GLWS!
