mc2 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I love early Scorpion with Ulithi Roth but it really hard to find live video clips. Most have live audio with stills. Here is one of the only ones...would have preferred "Dark Lady" or something from Tokyo Tapes. Scorpions w/ Ulithi Roth 1974 An 80s hair band fave clip.... Bruford Live 1979by TheChoke7743 ... Fixed it! The Cinderella vid is what I am talking about. I wish I had access to these when I was in my 20's. I would probably watch them 6 hours a day. Firefox has a good download addon, Puts a "download" button below the video. I am collecting them all before they are gone, or the get harder to find To embed a youtube vid just type or paste the address but include the http:// No need to use link or any other tool at the top, just copy and paste the address as test.
Crimsontider Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Wasp 84 Notice some songs blackie sings and other's are lip sync. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHfcS2bOhTc Stryper 86 This band was going bumbling until a high profile Japanese disc jockey got hold of the record and gave it a lot of plays, they became very big in Japan and it took until the next album for them to break through in the US.
Crimsontider Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 This just kicks ass Dio 83 Holland. This was one of the first concerts from the Last in Line tour although it still has some remnants from Holy Diver. This tour later produced one of my all time favorites Dio Live at the Spectrum, where I have memorized every nuance of that concert. Viv is playing a Paul here and his chops are not like at the Spectrum, but Dio's voice is top notch.Believe they released this vid in Europe and the Spectrum in the US, but a decade later or more combined them and took some of the duplicate songs out of this concert. When I found this I felt like I struck gold. Another full Vivian and Dio concert. Yeaaah Ohh!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AigQZncOm-U
DaveL Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 speaking as someone whose parents were LATE ADOPTERS of cable, I missed a lot of cool videos and stuff during the 80's... I caught everything I missed on youtube... hell yeah two that I really like... Riot at My father's place (Fire Down Under period) and there is a pro shot video of early Kix (cool Kids) era which was shot for broadcast, pretty cool, the itch, loco emotion, yeah yeah yeah, some of that stuff.
Disturber Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I'll do even better, I'll post something that is funky. It's Friday after all.Chilipeppers in 1990, with Frusciante;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79I3tYxBuOg&list=WLBUu6pXVbHdDfGjvjo44t9Q07z-pRMKEO

Brooks Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 sco & MMW are always at their best together; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAr8nTePQso i always mention the aristocrats when people say there isn't any good new music. this whole concert is cool, but this tune is my fave;

W.A.S.P. and Stryper on the same post. Somehow I find that funny. This is a great thread too. Love Tokyo Tapes. Here is one I find myself returning to every now and again.
Ting Ho Dung Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 sabs 1970 (before the paranoid album came out, some of the lyrics are different)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clySTJtd81c Ga Damn, Brooks. I started playing this video and my wife got up and left the room. Yeah, she was conceived and delivered on a dirt road in Polk County. But I wanted to accept Satan as my savior and couldn't bring myself to turn it off.
Crimsontider Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 maiden 1981 (i always prefered paul dianno) Great find, I watched the whole thing. I like The Bruce D better, but it's like comparing gold and silver. Bruce is so good, a top 3, that I think it overshadows how good Dianno really was. I know the drummer on this concert had some health problems and was replaced by someone who might be technically better, but both this drummer and Paul helped craft the Maiden sound that made them famous, that can never be forgotten. The only member that help change the sound dramatically was Adrian Smith, who added a dimension to a already winning formula. He helped get away from strictly major power chords, and is my favorite person in the band. Somewhere in Time is a Masterpiece.
Biz Prof Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 sabs 1970 (before the paranoid album came out, some of the lyrics are different) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clySTJtd81c maiden 1981 (i always prefered paul dianno) My God, Maiden was incredibly tight back then. It says a lot about the impact of high-dollar studio production that Maiden's early live sound was nearly identical to their frugally-produced studio recordings. They have always been the consummate live band and their chops are solid on this vid from '82. Thanks for posting it.
Crimsontider Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Metal was the coolest music ever invented until about 86. This is from a concert called "Shockwave", a bunch of bands in the 82 era from Europe that never made it but were modeled after the Maiden's and Priest's. It was not great, but it had personality in its flaws. This is Lions's Pride - Free Rider!. Entertaining and somewhat comical, but it was before the industry ruined the movement. This shockwave video found it's way to a video rental store in a tiny Alabama town. I used to smoke a few and watch these bands. The slow mo video effect of the drummer cracks me up til this day. Jail....Breaker.........enough to drive you crazy mad!
LordOfTheThighs Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Wasp 84Notice some songs blackie sings and other's are lip sync.I seen WASP on that tour. Their show was pretty over the top, for that day.I don't recall Blackie and Holmes asses, tho.

Their show was pretty over the top, for that day.I don't recall Blackie and Holmes asses, tho.I thought that was pretty disgusting on their part and I will always remember them for that, kind of like a stain. Only resonantly found out that a few of my favorite concert DVD's had prerecorded parts, mainly vocal. The Queensryche from Japan is a mixture of live and prerecorded all made to look live. If you listen and observe closely you can find the truth.You can see Blackie's voice still ringing through after he has pulls the mic away in the concert above. Some were live, the vocal heavy slower songs were prerecorded mainly.I have no problem with lip sync, especially if they are just singing off their record. What bugs me is prerecording something to sound live, tricking people. The Whitney Houston National Anthem kind of lip sync, not ABBA miming SOS on American Bandstand.

I saw Maiden opening for Priest on the Point of Entry/Killers tour... and they came out relatively unknown (it was Boston, so no airplay at all) and they blew the roof off of the Orpheum theatre. and if that wasn't rock and roll enough, paul dianno was smoking butts on stage. nice!! I still believe that having to play after a hungry upstart maiden helped priest pick up their game as the next year they did screaming for vengeance which was a pretty solid slab.
Armitage Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I seen WASP on that tour. Their show was pretty over the top, for that day.I don't recall Blackie and Holmes asses, tho.They took the inspiration from Max Max: The Road Warrior
