JGale Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) Kevin O'Connor's ad copy reads like xxxnerdpr0n.🥰 "The London Power 6V/12V heater configuration allows the actual heater wiring to be small-gauge wire, typically #20 or #22. Otherwise, the traditional 6V-only heater wiring can be accommodated. In either case, a DC-stand-off is provided for a 30db reduction of heater noise. The bias supply is a typical cascaded RC filter following a full bridge. Proper bias supplies are built using separate windings, as all London Power power transformers (PTs) have. The auxiliary +/-12Vdc supply provides active regulation of both polarities, supporting opamps and other solid-state devices, and switching circuitry." This for a tube amp power supply; active noise suppression, dc heaters, regulated 12vdc, in a $175CDN kit! This is some barrel of monkeys shit. Edited July 4, 2022 by JGale Quote

LucSulla Posted July 8, 2022 Author Posted July 8, 2022 Forgot to take my damn Hamer Studio out of the bed of my truck last night and let it sit out there in direct 95 degree sunlight in the case for about 5 hours today. It was so hot, it some how evaporated the sweat from practice last night in my strap and left it as condensation under the bridge and tailpiece. I thought at first the poly was bubbling, but thankfully, it wasn't. I do have some kind of discoloring on my pickups thought. I left it open in the garage the rest of the day and cleaning it up a little bit to avoid shocking it coming back in the house. I think I may get away with just having to tweak the truss rod, but I'll wait overnight after I bring it back in the house. Best Hamer I've ever owned probably. I was just sick when I was working from home today and noticed the case wasn't sitting with the rest of the stuff I brought in last night. 1 Quote

LucSulla Posted July 10, 2022 Author Posted July 10, 2022 Well, good news is, all that was needed was a truss rod tweak. No structural or finish damage. It and an old Ibanez 560 I bought are the only two guitars I bought just for fun that wound up being outrageously good guitars that are reliably awesome for most any gig. And that isn’t Hamer chauvinism. I’ve owned a lot of Hamer’s, but this one just has a thing that makes me love to pick it up. Glad my absent mindedness didn’t lead to anything serious. 4 Quote
